Oops, one other thing. Where will people gather early in the morning after traveling on crowded buses to get there in time? With all that physical distancing, I just don't see how it's feasible.
There were no guidelines on transport. That’s on Disney to figure out. I still don’t know how you open WDW before phase 3 but it appears the local government apparently wants them to try. The company could wait and open after the July 4th holiday when crowds would be lighter or even later. That would probably be a wise move but thats A lot of money to lose. Seems like if Disney has representatives on these state and local task forces and these are the kinds of things coming out they may be leaning towards an earlier opening.

there is going to be an empty BLT lake view one bedroom available for 12 days, maybe I should give it to a homeless person to escape the pandemic for awhile.
Can you imagine the mayhem if you started a movement where every DVC member who may lose points because they can't travel made bookings to house homeless people or even donated bookings to cast members who are struggling with their rent?

I'm not going to comment on the economics but I still think this will require more due diligence on the part of guests than ever before. And again, from my standpoint, the folks on this board do not represent the majority. I trust everyone here to read up and understand how things are done. But non-fanatics? It's going to be complaint city that'll make Rise of the Resistance look like a dig in Dinoland.

I guess this won't take long since governemnt is probably lifting phase 2 by July and phase 3 is back to normal so I guess they can re open mid June on phase 2 to get some money with such restrictions and then back to normal by July or August
In NC, I can't even get a haircut until phase 2. At best, phase 2 starts in June, but that is assuming the stay at home order doesn't get extended and that we can progress through phase 1 within 2 -3 weeks.

My money is still on Springs to open first, followed by MK. We've seen that before in post-hurricane conditions.
I could see them opening Disney Springs and the DVC resorts before opening the parks. There are DVC members who would be fine with a resort only vacation and they need to keep as many points in use as possible.

So, how would one sign up for those boarding groups? Via MDE at a designated time? And when would folks be allowed to enter themselves into the boarding group lottery? I don't know, it just seems so involved with so many variables. I used to think planning a Disney trip in this modern era was "a trip" but this process sounds like it won't be for the faint of heart. I mean, I'm all for hearing about it from those who do jump into the fray on the front lines but my anxiety and pocketbook couldn't take it.
Great questions, I'm thinking they can preassign the BG's based off if you are staying at the resort, DVC member, AP passholder etc. As long as folks realize that it won't be the Disney pre-corona for a long time, we should all be open to minor inconveniences if we should decide to go to WDW.

I think there's a decent amount of Disney-goers that are reasonable...but then again...there's a decent-sized chunk that are super UNreasonable, too...and I can see them causing Disney major headaches.

A lot of Cast Members will be going home sick, not because of Corona so much as the heat exhaustion of having to wear a mask.

Construction workers do this on a regular basis and manage okay.

Plus raw hands from continuously washing and slathering their hands in sanitizer all day, every day.

Doctors and nurses do this on a regular basis and manage okay.

There is also a guideline about spacing out sun loungers on pool decks to reflect social distancing. Imagine the ultimate whammy -- you can't get into the parks because of 50% capacity limits and you can't enjoy the pool area because there is no capacity on the spaced-out pool deck, and then you can't get into a restaurant...! Oh man, customer service lines would be red-hot at that point.

And let's not forget....even the customer service lines would have the 6 foot spacing rule.

Even for the kid having the meltdown.

Even for the grown adult having the meltdown...

...in the summer heat...in the queue that is outdoors whenever possible.

Boarding groups could be done like max pass at DLR. The app doesn’t work until you are in the park. You reserve a FP through the app then 90 mins later or after you use your active one you can reserve a second one. Once all the time slots run out for the day no more riders. You do have to prioritize which rides you want to go on because you may not get them all in one day.

Dry, cracked hands has been a common problem for medical professionals, since long before Covid-19.

Though perhaps disposable gloves would help bartenders.

The deli staff near me has been using those between each customer for years. Trouble is, they touch the box every time they get a new pair.

This sounds like a disaster waiting to open. I will say, you guys are missing out on being in Orlando. The weather has been absolutely perfect the last few days.

50% capacity? So will they update this on the app? I don't want to get all the way to ttc only to be told it's at capacity. I imagine at the gates it will Walmart, counting how many people come in and leave. Same for lands (easy for animal kingdom and magic Kingdom).

6ft distance resort wide? Lol that is a joke. Good luck on even trying to implement that July 4.

Disney Springs is easy. Keep the horrible stores closed, no one shops there anyway.

It's kind of like the bathroom. You can watch your hands all you want but as soon as you open the door, it's ruined.

Anybody ever seen a Brazilian Tour Group spaced 6 feet apart? Oh, boy, - well there's that to look forward to. The chanting will last from Casey's to the line for Pirates.

I suspect they will ban large groups. I think the international tour groups go through a program sponsored by Disney.

What do you do about families that are massive? Its a disaster waiting to happen. Can you imagine standing in the hot sun on splash mountain, and because of social distancing the wait is 500 minutes. I'm good.

How about temporarily pause park hoppers (offer refunds) and make a reservation for the parks themselves? Almost like FP+ for the parks themselves. can also give the same 60 day benefit to resort stays, 30 days for AP etc.
