So the NFL is considering various options including delaying the start of the season until October 15. There would be zero reason to keep WDW closed if people are packing football stadiums.

There are zero reasons to act responsibly if others are being irresponsible?

A travel agent I know is claiming a Universal Orlando TM (on their phone line) told her UO is opening June 1st and to expect an official confirmation as early as tomorrow.
I'll personally believe it when I see it, but I was just excited to have something to share for a change. 😉
Thought I'd provide physical evidence so you all don't think I was making this up when nothing happens tomorrow. 😂

Your opinion may be that it’s irresponsible, that’s fine. TWDC is going to look to other similar entertainment venues, whether that’s other theme parks, zoos, casinos or sports stadiums for signals that it’s considered safe by society to open. If they are all returning back to business then Disney will have no reason not to open WDW. A stadium full of 80,000 people in no way is any less “safe” than a theme park. There’s also no way the NFL will be allowed to return across the country if it’s not considered safe.

We haven't seen the capacity in which it would operate. A business where it's impossible for you to not touch surfaces with viral potential is different from one that doesn't require patrons at all.

Ehh, I would say a sporting event is actually less safe than a theme park. Those seats are all right on top of each other. Queues are close together, but nothing like seats at a stadium. Especially indoor stadiums. You're also sitting directly next to, behind, and in front of the same people for anywhere from 2-4+ hours at a game. Definitely more exposure.

Go back and read what I wrote. There would be zero reason to keep WDW closed if people are packing football stadiums.

We see that some restaurants are not opening because they deem it irresponsible even while their neighbors have their doors wide open. So yes different businesses can look at the same situation and come to the conclusion that they shouldn't open.

If the NFL is allowed to have full stadiums, than we'll likely be past phase 3 of opening, where almost everything is.

That was my point. By the time we get to the point that that happens WDW will be open. Just like everyone else the NFL has no idea what will actually happen and is just planning for and projecting what they think is most likely to may happen. In all of their alternate plans for the schedule the latest the season kicks off is 10/15. That doesn’t mean that it will definitely happen. If things go bad they could still end up canceling the season altogether.

Sometimes walking down Main Street feels like I’m leaving a eagles game.

Yes, I just read that before posting my previous comment!

Exactly!
Local government just needs to define what precautionary measures could be, which it could be as simple as having hand sanitazers stations up to taking temperature to all the people comming to the parks.
It’s not just the local government’s decision though. They set the minimum requirements but it’s ultimately up to Disney or Comcast or Sea World or whoever owns a park to decide what they want to do. I don’t know what the specific requirements for Florida will be but I can’t imagine if Disney opens before the equivalent of federal phase 3 that the only precautionary measures will be hand sanitizers or temperature checks. It will at least start with something more substantial.
