Coronado springs-which building?

Hello CSR Experts, I will be staying their for the first time in mid July. (usually stay @ AKL or WL, but had to cut expences this trip). I understand it is a large resort. Recently I completed some physical therapy on my knee and am playing on the safe side by booking a "preferred room". I was led to believe (by my travel agent) that likely
means in the Casitas area. I want to be near a bus stop and the restaurants which I am told is in the El Centro area. I know there are
like 5 Casitas buildings. Which one would be best to tell the travel agent
to ask for. Also would getting a note from the Dr's office help with making
my room request more likely?:)

Casitas 1 would be the one closest to El Centro, then Casitas 2, 3, etc. I don't know about the Dr's note, though, so I can't help you there.

Thanks sbkline. I assume there is a bus stop right near Casitas 1 since it
is close to El Centro. I have never stayed @ CSR before so am I correct
in saying the Pepper Market and Maya Grill are near El Centro and Casitas 1? Also have you ever eaten at Maya Grill. One last thing, since it will be hot in mid July how close is a pool to this area? Again thanks for any feedback on the resort. I have been spoiled staying over at AKL & WL,
and realize that I will be in for some walking, but wanted to try and minimize it since I will be doing enough in the parks.:)

The Pepper Market and Maya Grill are IN El Centro. You walk into the main building and check in is off to your right. The gift shop is on your left and as you walk down the hallway, there is a bakery, then farther down the hallway is the Pepper Market, then Maya Grill is at the end of the Hallway, with a door leading to the outside.

We stayed in Casitas 2, but I remember having to walk a small ways to the bus stop. The bus stop that we used was either by Casitas 3 or 4, I can't remember which. I know that there are 4 or 5 bus stops at Coronado, but I can't remember for sure where they all are. I know there is a bus stop at the main building (El Centro) and the bus stop that we used (by Casitas 3 or 4), and I don't think there was one in between, but I could be wrong.

The main pool complex was on the other side of the resort, across from the lake. So it is long haul over there, but the walk doesn't bother me, since I'm used to hiking around the parks all day. They do have two or three quiet pools and there was one pretty close to our building. I would always walk by it on the way to the pool, and it was really not far at all from our Casitas 2 building. But I always prefer the feature pool, so I never used any of the quiet pools.

As far as Maya Grill, I'll refer you back to what I wrote in your other thread yesterday. You probably don't remember my screen name, but I replied to your question about eating at Maya Grill. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=705554

I may be mistaken but I thought the Casitas were renovated to be suites.

I know when I tried booking, to get into the Casitas for a week added about 3G to the price.

Maybe if this change took place in the past year, but when we stayed last April, we stayed in Casitas 2 and they were just regular rooms.

Again, I could be completely wrong. I just noticed a huge price increase when I tried to book the Casitas and assumed it was because they were suites.

There is no way to book a certain section. You can request a specific section (as usualy, no request can be guarenteed) and all sections have regular occupancy rooms. There are certain areas that do have some suites, but it isn't all suites in one section of the resort. Casitas still have your regular standard/prefered guest rooms.

I highly recommend Casita building 4. Although it's about a five-minute walk to El Centro, you're right by Bus Stop #2, the quiet pool (it really is quiet), the healthe club, laundry, etc. I request this building every time I go, and I've stayed there at least seven or eight separate times.

I have been hearing that the Casitas have the preferred rooms, but I also heard there are some in the Cabanas, but I have never stayed in a suite there. We usually stay in a standard water view room in Cabanas 8A or 8B and it is really close to the main pool and bus stop 4. If you board a bus (I don't remember which one does not do this, Downtown Disney?) it's last stop will be bus stop 1 so you could board that and get off at that stop as that is where El Centro is located.
