Coronado Springs Questions

Ok I have a confusing august trip. From the 2-10th I am staying at WDW Swan and then from the 10th-13th i am not sure where yet, but from the 13-18th I am staying at Coronado Springs. Now i was wondering where i should try and request a room? I am hoping that some people on here could tell what part of CS they stayed and Why? Thanks!
Also if anyone has pictures I would greatly appreciate it. I have never stayed there, but heard it is nice.

We stayed in 9B in December. This is the Cabanas section and loved this building! It is steps from the bus stop, a quick walk over the bridge to the main pool, and very close to the main building and marina.

The rooms had been recently redone and were very nice. This building is eventually changing to a concierge building - but in the meantime a great place for the rest of us!

Great pics of all sections of the hotel and pools can be found at the link below.

We've stayed in Cabanas before and we loved it...the room was great and it was very close, a short walk past palm trees and the lake, to the main building where there is food, shops, etc.
Most rooms have been renovated as far as I know.

Check this site and the fact sheet for more details!

Good luck!

We have stayed at the CSR seven times and we've always stayed in the Casitas. The first time we were in Casitas 2; the next five times we were in either Casitas 4 or 5; this past September we had asked for Casitas 5 but were put in Casitas 3. But we didn't complain--we were upgraded to a suite! :) We've always liked this area because it is close to the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa. When in Casitas 4 or 5, it takes me five to seven minutes to walk to the main building for our morning coffee (depending on how fast I'm walking that day) and about eight to ten minutes to walk to the main pool.

This year we are planning on trying either the Ranchos or the Cabanas just for a change of scenery.

Cabanas 9B is a great location. HOWEVER, 9B is reserved for Convention guests only if there is a convention in town, as it has Club service. However, if there is no convention, then regular resort guests can request 9B (but they do not have access to the Club Level).

Here is locations and what they are close to (thanks to a friend of mine on another forum):

For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.

For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.

Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a rainstorm).

In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own plusses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best……..if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be.

Also, for a reality check…….when there is a large convention……not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive…… Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing those assignments.

As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, fax the resort a week before arrival. Be sure you are faxing to the resort and not to Walt Disney Travel Company, their booking agency. The resort cast is best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort; but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. The fax number is available by calling Walt Disney World information and asking for the front desk operations fax number.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

I have stayed in 6A twice. I love the location, because we only went to the front first thing every morning, and the walk was so beautiful adn peaceful! It was a short stroll to the main pool which we were at frequently, and a quick walk to the bus stop as well! It worked great for us! although I do here that the Cabanas are a great spot because they are the buildings that you can be pretty close to all 3 important factors... main pool, el centro, and the bus. I loved ranchos 6A also because it was very quiet out there! and not many conventioners at this location since it is so far out, and not right beside a quiet pool!

Who is going to be with you on the trip? I might be able to give you a better choice based on some more info!

Cabanas, for a couple of reasons, 1 close to main pool, 2 it's right by the last bus stop before the front stop, (front desk) So, you won't have to go thru a bunch of other stops before you head out to the parks, and the next to last stop on the loop, so your pretty much right by your room, short walk to slumberville :snore:

We were in Cabanas 9B which was perfect for us. Close enough to the main area we could walk it in a couple of minutes, similarly a couple of minutes walk to the main pool. Quiet pool nearby was fantastic. Its a great resort, beautiful theming - our only gripe was the Food Court wasn't as organised as some - it seemed to take forever to get a) served, and b) the food once ordered.
