Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach you decide!

We are a couple in our early fifties from the UK and luv WDW. On our recent visits we have always stayed at POR for 2 or 3 wks in July/August, however after checking out the prices for 2014 we may change to either CS or CB due to the prices for POR even for a standard room which I don't think can be justified. Last year we were allocated a room facing the car-park in Magnolia after paying for a garden view we questioned this allocation but CM was adamant it was a garden view, on arrival at said room there was a tree outside the window :grumpy:. During our stay we noticed the front of the mansions were given to the large tour groups:mad:. Whilst we don't spend a great deal of time in the resort we do like a few alcoholic beverages in the evening so we do frequent the bar/lounge every evening of our stay:D. We don't really use the pool areas as we are at the parks all day everyday:joyfull:. So if you were thinking of changing from POR to CS or CB which would you choose, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Coronado and Caribbean r priced the same for standard rooms this year, or at least the dates I have been looking for! I was gonna go with CBR, I have never stayed at either, but looking at the maps on google, yes, CBR is a bigger resort, but the rooms look like they are so far from everything at Coronado.

I've stayed at both multiple times. Average distance of rooms to food court, main pool etc. is about the same. Either place you can try to ask for something closer. Bus service is noticeably slower at CB because there are so many stops.

I made a solo trip this past year and I stayed at Coronado. I thought it was an excellent resort. The rides to the parks was quite short. There was an outdoor bar by the big pond and an indoor bar as well. It is a larger resort, but on my last day I took a walk around to take pictures and it was no problem at all. I have never stayed at Caribbean Beach, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Coronado again.

I've only been to coranodo and it was the best Disney Hotel experience i have had so far. Better than boardwalk. The busses ran great, we were 2nd building to the interior and walked straight out to bus stop. It can be a bit of a walk to the food court. The only thing we reqlly didn't like is the food court. Research that a bit. Wife advised against caribbean beach because it is so large (longer bus rides).

Was a bit concerned about Coronado with it having the convention centre and the effect it may have on the availability for seating in the bar/lounge area in the evenings. With regards to the food court we sometimes have something to eat when we leave the bar/lounge so would probably give it a try.:hungry:

Depends on the convention. You can find what's going on when you plan to be there by googling Coronado Springs conventions.

I would definitely choose Coronado Springs, the convention thing has never bothered me in the slightest and the resort itself is lovely. Caribbean Beach is more island lush in terms of foliage and gardens, and does have the zero entry pool. I think Coronado has more in the way of evening entertainment with the lounge area. Also CS has the two queen sized beds in the room as standard. CB has the full size beds which isnt a huge difference but should be noted. Both have great locations. CB does not have elevators but the buildings are no higher than two stories, CS does as some parts of the resort are up to 4 stories tall. As far as Dining, I prefer Coronado, the Maya Grill is pretty awesome, the Pepper Market is about the same as the CB's food court and you have the added area of a grab and go at Cafe Rix's. There are multiple locations for an adult beverage at CS. CS is a warmer resort by design though with not so much in the way of trees or shade so take that into account. Take a look at the Unofficial Coronado resort website here: http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/ Hope this is helpful! Marie

There was some convention going on but they were pretty transparent. Only noticed them because they were dressed business professional with ID tags

As far as food they also have a snack bar type place as well. They sell breakfast too but it is limited. I don't even see it listed on all ears menus.

Another vote for CSR!

Besides having a great main pool area, the resort offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price. CSR now also offers business club level rooms now with lounge access.

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night/dance club.

Queen beds are offered, a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play) but only one sink.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

Thanks again everyone for your feedback, we're enjoying reading your opinions and it seems after reading your postings thus far that CSR is by far the most popular of the two.

Another vote for CSR! Better transportation, and queen sized beds! (CB still has full as of this past fall.)

CSR is a beautiful resort, and personally I like the fact it's more adult oriented in its decor due to the convention center. (We don't have kids, so we'll enjoy those resorts on future adventures to the World!)

I've stayed at Coronado twice and have a hard time choosing another mod.

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful pools, spa, gym, outdoor and indoor bar and Maya Grill. The best shrimp tacos and margaritas ever.

I doubt that you will be disappointed.

Coronado Springs without question or hesitation.

CS is almost a deluxe for the price of a mod in terms of quality, not to mention the hot business women at Rix in the evening.

Not that a married man like myself notices such things.

Jimmy Thick- But you can't miss them. ;)
