Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach you decide!

We are a couple in our early fifties from the UK and luv WDW. On our recent visits we have always stayed at POR for 2 or 3 wks in July/August, however after checking out the prices for 2014 we may change to either CS or CB due to the prices for POR even for a standard room which I don't think can be justified. Last year we were allocated a room facing the car-park in Magnolia after paying for a garden view we questioned this allocation but CM was adamant it was a garden view, on arrival at said room there was a tree outside the window :grumpy:. During our stay we noticed the front of the mansions were given to the large tour groups:mad:. Whilst we don't spend a great deal of time in the resort we do like a few alcoholic beverages in the evening so we do frequent the bar/lounge every evening of our stay:D. We don't really use the pool areas as we are at the parks all day everyday:joyfull:. So if you were thinking of changing from POR to CS or CB which would you choose, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Thanks again guys for all the feedback it is a great help. This may seem a silly question:confused: but can all guests use the Rix lounge for a couple of alcoholic beverages after a long day in the parks & if so is there a dress code as my DH wears nothing but his sneakers whilst on vacation.

Another vote for CSR!

Besides having a great main pool area, the resort offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price. CSR now also offers business club level rooms now with lounge access.

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night/dance club.

Queen beds are offered, a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play) but only one sink.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

The fitness center is one reason I always choose CSR! Only mod with a workout area.

Yes any guest can use this area and I have never had a problem going in pretty casual. Have a great time! Marie

I had the same question and decided CSR. The queen beds were the main deciding factor for the DW and I. It seemed that most everything else we cared about was equal or in CSR's favor.

Hi All, Take a look here at a blog I wrote up in regards to Coronado Springs with some great pictures of the resort. Enjoy! Marie

Thanks wannabeBelle will take a look at your blog. It seems by an overwhelming majority that CSR is everyone's choice I think the only thing we would probably miss is the boat to DTD :(which we tended to use instead of the bus. But that's a minor thing I suppose after reading all the good & positive feedback regarding everything else. Thanks again guys. :)

We stayed at Coronado last year and loved it, but I'd suggest going with CB. Coronado is a conference centre so there were always people walking around in suits with briefcases, etc. It felt less "relaxed" than some of the other resorts. Also, the Coronado quick service restaurant left something to be desired.

Looks like CSR is the deciding vote on this thread. My family and I settled on CBR due to lower rate. I wasn't sure at first either. But Mom is really looking forward to having a room with a water view (they paid for a preferred om the Martinque section). Having a drink on the patio before dinner isn't sounding too bad to me.

Before I would pay for CBR, I would get a room at PORS or POFQ. The rooms are so much cleaner and have been refurbed in the last couple of years. We loved CBR, but it is in desperate need of a refurb. The last time we stayed our shoes would actually stick to the floor. However, if they refurb, I would love to stay there again. It is so close to DHS and EPCOT. We never had any problem with the bus service when we used it, and we loved the little patio areas in the courtyards. We did have a car for going to the lobby and food court, so that is also a consideration.
PORS, in my opinion, is a better choice for adults and teens. There is a nice view of the river from the waterview rooms and the boat to DTD. It is really a beautiful place. We always get a parking lot room since we mostly drive to the parks and it's closer to the car. Also, it's easier to unload the car.

Thanks for your feedback on CBR. It does seems CSR is the firm favourite out of the two resorts. Whilst I agree PORS is a beautiful resort we have stayed there numerous times it appears that since they have introduced the royal rooms in the mansions the prices have soared and in my opinion are not justified. We paid for a garden view last year and were allocated a room facing the parking lot the CM who checked us in said it was a garden viewo_O upon arrival at said room there was a tree outside the windowo_O not IMO a garden view. Whilst the majority of the rooms at the front of the mansions were allocated to large tour groups & no disrespect to these groups but I doubt very much that they paid the extra for garden view rooms. So it is with much regret that my DH & myself are thinking of changing resorts as we feel that PORS is no longer giving the service or value has it has done in previous visits:grumpy:
