I would be interested to hear you speak those words there times over and keep a straight face.

That information is utter nonsense. If you knew anything about WDI's plans, you'd rush back and delete that post.

To put it simply, replacing the Carousel of Progress is one of the few plans in Imagineering that is progressing. This is is a matter of one department not in touch with another. To depict its future as secure as the Tower of Terror is ridiculous.

If you go back and read the post that you quoted, you will note that it says "until they do [announce the closure]" it is safe.

Exactly what information do you have that backs up the replacement of CoP? What is your source?

they were not working well...

Pretty funny about the Dell Plasma tv's. I saw them there in May and wondered how long they would last. I have the same tv in my kitchen and have had nothing but problems with it. Right now it won't even turn on. Maybe I will call the service line and speak to someone in India.

re-read the post......

Besides, you obviously know nothing of the plans, unless you are either an employee of WDC and are violating you NDA, or you know an employee of WDC that is violating their NDA.....

If you desire a tranquilizer, go to CBJ.

 Well, Woody, it's good to see that some things never change!!

I like CBJ (and COP and HOP and the other "tranquilizers" -- right alongside TOT and the other thrills -- depending on my mood and my company), but I have to give it to you: You are consistent! And consistently funny.

I would be disappointed if you ever went "down for refurbishment" ...

ill be trained on CoP i think on wednesday so i guess ill find out what they are doing to it.

Cool. Let us know (although we realize that cast members are not always privvy to all of the information). In this case, you should probably be able at least to tell us what is happened with the current rehab already in motion (so to speak)...

And (while I am at the puns), a "progress" report on it! :lookaroun :)

Nope. I was trained on CoP yesterday and they (regular CMs and the managers) have no clue what the definite plans are at the time.

Seats and ceiling tiles being replaced. That is about it.

I'm going to be ridiculously off topic and let you all know that I just decided to be the first scene father from the Carousel of Progress for Halloween. I'm going to have the rocking chair, the pipe, everything, and it's probably gonna look like I'm sitting on a floating chair, lol. Wow, all the sudden I'm really excited about this. I'll be sure to post pictures from Halloween!

I can't wait to see COP again. When we went in 2003 it was shut down. I haven't seen it since 2002. I can't wait to see it. It is a must see on my list!!

Does this mean they're actually going to run it full time again? This whole "open seasonally" thing is stupid, especially when they pick on good attractions like Carousel of Progress or Timekeeper. .

Hello,

The Carousel of Progress has been running continually since Alien Enounter was closed for it's Stitch redo and is still open. Stitch's Great Escape is almost 1 year old. CoP has been running non seasonal for quite a while now.

These are the days,
these are the best days,
these are the best days of our life...

OOPS! Wrong version!

You can still hear that version playing on the "soundtrack" around tomorrowland, you know, in between pages for Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow...

Jon

OH MY GOD. Where have I heard that song before?

"Welcome to the General Electric's Carousel of Progress. Now, most Carousel's just go 'round and 'round without getting anywhare, but on this one, at every turn we'll be making progress. And Progress is not just moving ahead. It's dreaming and building a better way of life.

Progress is the sound of a motor.

The Hum of a turbine.

The heatbeat of the factory.

The sound of the symphony.

The roar of the rocket.

Progress is people being released from drugery, gaining more time to enjoy themselves and live richer, better lives. And as long as man works, dreams, and builds, this progress will go on, in your life and mine.

I remember when I was a little kid I use to call it the general electric ride. I have always loved that ride and was very sad when I heard that it would be closing this year. I am happy to hear that it was just all a rumor. I did noticed that the sound was not on track and it was on some parts low.
