News Cool Kids' Summer

It’s an absolute no brainer on a 6 night stay IF you had planned to stay six nights but will the three/four night people add 2-3 nights just because it’s free? That’s what they’re gambling on here, IMO - and that those two days of spending at the resort will outweigh the discount you get on tickets and the two free nights in the room.
Sure.

I hope this is a potential precursor to bring back the ticket discount levels of pre-COVID. The tipping point of of where adding an extra day was trivial is now at the 6 and 7 ticket range vs. the 4 and 5.

Pre COVID I could add a whole day for 4 people for an extra $20 total or something absurd (7 vs 8 day ticket package). This new deal is kind of like resetting that.

@lentesta @PREMiERdrum looks like we’ve pulled some large (to them anyways) incentive levers with the two free nights in hotels and tickets?

Although I guess the room discount on a 6 night stay is 33% when you factor in four nights and the two free nights so this isn’t much better than a standard discount. I’m assuming this is geared towards them trying to people to extend trips under the guise of value?
Typically the (highest discount) 30% off only applies to the Deluxe rooms though. So this would seem to be a better deal for Value and Moderate resorts

A package is just hotel and tickets purchased together from either a TA or on the WDW website.
Yes, but don’t travel agents technically book through Walt Disney Travel Company? They’re a 3rd party but still book directly with Disney. Can places like Expedia or Priceline do packages?

Yes they book directly with Disney on a separate website.

No idea how expedia etc work. I assume they are given an inventory but I don't think I've ever seen them sell tickets.

Does this mean they're unlikely to bring back that Florida resident 3-day ticket bundle again this year? Was really hoping they would bring that back... As a local I don't need hotel stays, but ticket deals are nice.

Okay. So it doesn’t seem like having to book through the Disney Travel Company will be a limiting factor for people to take advantage of this. That’s good

Let’s wait to hear from actual TA’s. Maybe @wannabeBelle will be kind enough to let us know if this deal can be booked through TA’s?
Good morning everyone!! Yes we can book any of the promotions announced. Give us a call at 1866-566-7858 to speak with an agent. I'm not in the office this morning but I know one of our great agents is! Have a wonderful day and a very happy New Year! Marie

2 Adults, 2 Kids ages 5 and 6
All-Star Sports
Preferred Room
6/14 - 6/20

Total with no discount = $5652.92

Totals with the Cool Kid Summer Discount
  • Room w/6-day base tickets = $3657.76
  • Room w/6-Day Park Hoppers $4041.16
QS Dining and Kids eat free = $4766.80

Total with "Up to 30% Off" offer = $5294.26

So the Cool Kids discount is really good.

@wannabeBelle I'd be talking up the heck out of that Cool Kid deal. That looks great, right?

I also believe you can stack the “Kids Ear Free” offer on this so it is a lot better than I initially thought.

I applied this for a client staying at FQ. First of all, the minimum amount for tickets is 6 days. They had a 4 day attached to their reservation so I had to upgrade to a 6 to get 2 free. So no savings there.
They were originally booked in a standard room but standard was not available with the discount so I had to upgrade to preferred. Total they saved about $500. So good, but not great.
