News Cool Kids' Summer

On another anecdotal note, we saw very few young kids in the park. My youngest is 4 and at times we felt almost odd about having her, everyone touring seemed to be adults or have bigger kids. I wonder if there is some real data/evidence that shows Disney losing some of the younger families.
School starts back in many places in mid-August. Maybe that.

It may be seasonal. I think parents of smaller kids have caught onto the fact that Florida in July and August is hot and miserable. There may be a trend toward more toddlers and younger school age kids in Sept/October. Pulling older kids out of school can be a challenge, but it's really not a concern for pre-schoolers.

Some kind of good news - the Horseshoe will be open for “Jessie’s roundup” - that’s a step in the right direction for using the space properly again. There’s a chance they will have a piano player perform there too!

Yeah, seems like they've been using this space more regularly lately. I know it was a trick or treat spot for the Halloween Parties where the Hitchhiking Ghosts hung around. Exciting to see it open for regular hours as well!

Yep. Buy (at least) 4 nights and 4 days of tickets, get 2 of each free. But based on the language in the main article, it has to be purchased through Walt Disney Travel Co.
I just priced that difference. 4 days hopper for random week in August 660 vs 725 for the 6 days now…

So the 2 days free is saving you basically peanuts on the ticket portion of this.

2 free nights is nice tho obviously

Here's the math for my family as an example. Used 4 adults, 1 kid, 5th sleeper at CBR June 19th:

@lentesta @PREMiERdrum looks like we’ve pulled some large (to them anyways) incentive levers with the two free nights in hotels and tickets?

Although I guess the room discount on a 6 night stay is 33% when you factor in four nights and the two free nights so this isn’t much better than a standard discount. I’m assuming this is geared towards them trying to people to extend trips under the guise of value?

On a cruise rn (Celebrity Excel), so will do the math tomorrow. It’s possible this is the same discount %, as you suspect, just advertised a different way.

I did some spreadsheeting again, for 2 adults the New Room/Ticket Deal is better than a 30% discount on a $361 room at 6 and 7 nights/days. 30% discount is better at 8/9/10.

It’s an absolute no brainer on a 6 night stay IF you had planned to stay six nights but will the three/four night people add 2-3 nights just because it’s free? That’s what they’re gambling on here, IMO - and that those two days of spending at the resort will outweigh the discount you get on tickets and the two free nights in the room.
