Can we hope for the 60th? Like what were they thinking with this? Who ultimately approves this decision? I feel bad for the resort GM and Cast that now have to deal with this mess.
I wonder where they will move guests who complain and demand such or who say they cannot stay in a room where their children are afraid of the print in the bathroom! 😱

Emails have started arriving at guest relations about this. Not mine (yet).
Good. The Contemporary is was my favorite resort. I've loved it since my first visit to Disney World as a small child in the 70s. I never got to stay there as a kid but the memory of riding the monorail through the resort after leaving the Magic Kingdom stayed with me until I became an adult and could finally afford to stay there. The IP kiddiefication of this iconic resort is an abomination. I probably wouldn't be as upset had they just turned a few of the rooms into this IP nightmare and upgraded the rest to something more modern and adult. But to do this to every single room is just too much. At least I still have the memories.

not surprising and I think their problems are just beginning. I think the biggest issue no matter what peoples design opinion is, is going to be the price point. Its almost like they are catering to a daycare crowd only anymore, an absolute shame and huge missed opportunity like the posts above said.

Yeah this just doesn't make any sense. There are a lot of conferences held there and the rooms aren't exactly conducive to working while you're in the room. I'm a network engineer, a consultant, and I own two small businesses. I work sometimes while on vacation and looking at the new layout where exactly will I be getting any work done? And how is it possible that they made some of the biggest rooms on site look smaller?

I was booked to stay in a club level theme park view room at the Contemporary for seven days next summer. Once I saw this abomination I quickly changed to something else. I haven't sent an email yet but I am seriously considering letting them know my disappointment.

And doesn’t match any of the resort now! The hotel at least tried to coordinate the rooms/lobby/convention space/wave and Cali grill, and to a slightly failed extent tried to keep the concourse area in the same color tones, but now the rooms are off in their own world! I feel like marni here but all I can say is IDIOTS

The garden wing will not be updated, as the Garden Wing isn't in the future plans for the resort.
I don't think this is accurate. As of a month ago there were plans to do the Garden Wing next. I am HOPEING they do not, but not because I hate the rooms. They are okay. Not in LOVE with them, but I don't hate them either. I was just hoping they would not do the south garden wing at all as with its very low ceiling, this building is WAY past its prime. Time for it to meet the wrecking ball. Same for the Convention Center which does only a fraction of the business it use to draw. This can easily be absorbed by Disney's other Convention facilities, most of which are better anyway. I would raze it and build a BLT2 where the convention center this, and a parking garage where the south garden wing is now.
