Are the Suites on the upper floors getting this " Treatment "? I can't imagine shelling out the bucks to stay in the Suites if they have this design.

Easy fix: throw out the pillows, change the curtains and the picture, cover the back of the closet with a cling with Mary Blair artwork and then it won’t look so garbage. I’ll help burn the pillows.
If they wanted to keep some of the character personality, I'd personally do the following:
  • Keep the Incredibles sheers, but change the actual drapes to something solid.
  • Move one throw pillow to the couch and add cylindrical lumbar pillows to the beds that mimic the color pop of the couch.
  • Peel and burn literally every decal except for the diagonal behind the beds. If you want to maintain some of the character they convey, put actual items in the room that achieve the same effect. Like, make the bathrobes red with a mask insignia instead of having the decals in the closet. Give rooms unique remote controls in a mid-mod style instead of putting a decal inside the drawer.
  • Change the wall art to be a condensed version of what was previously on the curtains, with a focus on the monorail as the Incredibles characters interact with it.
  • Pick a better coffee table for the couch, maybe one that allows for a less obstructive configuration when not in use.
  • Put in warmer bulbs for all lights. Light fixtures should also probably be a reflective metal instead of white.
  • Switch to an ombre carpet with the same color scheme.
  • Not necessary at all, but I'd like it if the floors were a mid-tone wood instead of what they are now.

Its obvious that whoever is running the parks now doesnt believe that the actual resorts and restaurants can be structured and themed in such a way that they themselves become the IP people want to visit. Frankly its sad.

Again i dont see anything done here that was worth too much effort to throw into some All-Star Movies rooms instead. That would have actually been cool and earned them some points.
This is spot on. This design at All Stars would be a home run.

A fix will require a bit more than cosmetics i.e. actual demo and reconfiguring of the bathroom area to a more ergonomic and functional design w some class.

I don't think most guests will find anything especially wrong with the bathrooms aside from the potential lack of privacy.

Does "refurb design" seem to have devolved to them choosing stuff that NOBODY would want to have in their own home and therefore the wandering unique items are less likely to be "borrowed" by guests? Incredibles. Really?
Not that I want to be immersed in the Incredibles, but I do like staying in places that don't look like anything I'd actually do in my own home. For instance, I wouldn't do anything incredibly modern in my house nor would I do something overly ornate or rococo, but they can be fun to stay in for a few nights.

To recap, Incredibles in the rooms and Disney history in the lobby and potentially in The Wave. Sounds extremely disjointed without an overall theme.
This is a good point. They may have missed an opportunity to make this a "DisneyWorld hotel" and just theme the whole thing to the history and design of WDW, MK, or Tomorrowland. Similar to Disneyland Hotel.

Well I searched for August and found rooms around 425 but I know those were garden rooms. When the discounts kick in for winter 2022 they are will probably be around 550.
Tower rooms are in the $700 plus range and higher depending on theme park views and of course club level which is even more higher. As someone correctly pointed out here, this room would be a hit at All Star Movies and it's where the design should have stayed. To the decals in the closet, the kiddie pillows the bed, to the curtain that from a first glance, looks like something from a 5 year old's bedroom, all shout value resort, not a vintage Disney Deluxe resort. It actually reminds me of the amateurish Disney themed vacation rental homes you see on Youtube.

I'm sorry to offend any super fan here, but no way is this room anywhere near worth the rack rate Disney wants. Hopefully the powers that be at Disney realize sooner than later, that this is a huge mistake and at least fix a few things in the short term to rectify this problem. There was actually some good ideas here on this thread to fix this.

In fairness - strickly on the merits of the rooms and overall resort experience -- there are not many hotels on property that are actually worth their rack rates. Disney stopped trying to be a true luxury hotelier along the way.

I would give Wilderness and AKL a nod as being truly unique hotel stays and possibly Poly. [IMO Swan and Dolphin (aka Marriott) are pretty dialed in on price/value for room rates in this inflated context.]

Well putting a whole mess of anything in the middle would dampen the sound...but I don't think sound was ever a true issue in the concourse... I would have rather seen them build that crap-tacular shop on the lobby level, or quite frankly anywhere other than in the middle of the concourse... It looks cheap and ruins the feel of the space.
Move the Arcade to another location and expand the store on that side so that this monstrosity can go away for good.

It was an issue in the 70's and 80's. They moved the Arcade from the 1st floor to build the Wave, so they pushed the shop under the monorail to the center Atrium. That space for a while was a Pixar Playzone (Kiddie gulag so parents can go play) but was swapped back to an arcade when those facilities were eliminated at all resorts.
