I wanted to thank you all for the responses. We've decided to go with WL since Contemporary would have run us a lot more than expected and that room disappeared quickly haha.

The choice was between FQ and WL, big difference in price but it's our anniversary and we didn't have the best memories of the last visit to FQ

Sounds like you didn't have much of a choice, but you made the right choice!

For your anniversary, WL is a lot more romantic IMO!

Not even a debate: Wilderness lodge courtyard view. Having personally stayed in both, I think the walk to the garden view is horrendous after a long day at the parks. It is on the complete opposite side of hte hotel from the bus stop, and a trek from the monorail. I think the pool is better at WL. I think the overall atmosphere is better at WL. The only plus, if you really want to consider it a plus, is that the contemp has the monorail. But, the walk to get to and from your room to the monorail is no small task, and the monorail is incredibly crowded at the end of the day from MK. The boat from WL to MK is rarely crowded and is much easier to take to and from MK than the monorail IMHO. If it was between the Contemp tower and WL, that'd be more of a debate for me. But the garden view at MK is not worth the money.

Personally I think the Garden Wing is a ripoff. Its not like you are really staying at the Contemporary. You are paying more for a glorified hotel room and have a long walk to the main area of the resort.

IMO if the choice is FQ or WL, you made the better call. If it's within your budget, I think Artist Point is a very romantic restaurant, unlike the table service restaurant at FQ, which is called Not-There-Anymore. It's 2 credits on the Deluxe Dining, but worth it. Of course another option is for one person to use the credits and another to pay out of pocket. I'm not sure how much of that scream "romance," but my wife and I really had a great meal and great time there, I can't nearly sing its praises at the volume it deserves.

Have you ever tried the cheese fondue offered at the Territory Lounge? I swear I am going to make that one of my evening relaxations next trip whether I stay at WL or elsewhere. I'm going to get the cheese fondue and a bottle of wine and just snack away and chill out.
