More importantly, WHY would they do that? There has to be much cooler ways of evoking the sensation of being inside an information data stream without ripping off a movie whose message is quite clearly different than that of Spaceship Earth.

Apparently that video is direct from Siemens as part of their PR push.
Suppose the blue triangles shall be working soon then?
Note - the data stream is blue in the video, not green - which is how i saw it when i've ridden, has it changed colors?

Does anyone know if that's what the ascent tunnel looks like now? Those blue Disneyland space mountain ish bars that lead up to the photo booth?
And if the matrix tunnel is blue?
It was green when I went.

I would have said the colors were showing wrong in the video from the youtube link (as they obviously being yucky from compression) but the link from siemens own site has good quality and it still is blue - and if they messed with it that mgiht explain why there was that weird color bleed from it, no?

Well, the other place there were curtains was the ascent, and it apparently has the blue bars now. One would think a matching blue look would go into descent where there were curtains - hence the blue triangles..

Not yet, that's tomorrow - along with BPB.
(now that i've said it there will be a refurb wall up, it'll be closed and BPB will have technical difficulties - just you watch!)

I just rode Spaceship Earth on Thursday, and there weren't any remarkable differences. There was a super bright spotlight on the enthusiastic caveman, it seemed like the color filter or whatever had fallen out or something. The descent didn't look any different from a week or two ago. And the matrix tunnel was still definitely green.

The part with the matrix in blue and the blue lighted tunnel are new, the rest of the shots come from a B-roll reel that is older and has construction work going on in the background. Those two shots though are not on that roll. Suggesting they're recent additions when Siemens made that voice-over ready-made promotional segment.
Notably, the B-roll with all the other scenes is playing the Christmas music.

matrix is green in the photos i took on march 1...
I also do not remember any blue argon/neon lighting in the ascent... could it be b-roll taped during the construction phase before they finished everything but tested what they had working in dec?

That's just it, the B-roll they taped during test/build doesn't include those two clips (blue matrix, blue light tunnel) which are editted into that finished voice-over thing.
So, they're newer, I think. Like the clips of people being interviewed and of the Disney talking heads which were also editted in.

it must be new. After looking at the footage they have B-roll, high deff footage of characters in action such as greeks and renaissance scene, and then slightly shaky camera footage inlcluding the blue panneled ascent tunnel as well as the man in the computer room with the new black hair.
I think the blue matrix is nothign more than a bad filter or footage...notice how the footage following it shows the touch screens with a heavy blue tint.
