Confused about FP w/ child swap

Last year at Disney I was in the men's room and a little boy came in, knelt in front of the urinal and proceeded to splash pee all over his arma and hands, shove his hands as far into the pipe as they would go and play with the urinal cake....then he simply walked out. Somewhere some parents have no clue their little kid did this and just went on as normal anout their day.:( Another time I saw two little boys crawling around the toilets in the stalls. Just ALL OVER the floor and base of the toilet.

I guess my point is: Parents, do NOT let your kids go into a bathroom alone....EVER!
:eek::eek:

THIS is a horror that had not even crossed my mind! I think my breakfast may make a repeat appearance.

This whole "getting passes" thing is something I need to see in order to fully understand (because when I was last at WDW there were no fastpasses, etc.). I don't get where the CM is in relation to the line.

I didn't know child swap had to do only with the height requirements - I thought it had to do with the age and if the child wasn't really ready for the ride. IMO that's kind of crazy to say that just because a child is 40" tall they're ok to ride ToT, for example. They might be, but they might not be.

At all the rides as with FP or Height Limits there is a CM at the entrance to the ride line. See the CM at the FP entrance there will be another CM at the Standby Line. The Standby Line CM can help you with Child Swap. As for the height thing i guess it's to make sure people aren't cheating the system. You can't say you kid isn't riding and then take them on any way and then get to go through the FP line and ride again.

I completely agree with this. Although maybe this was WDW's lame attempt against abusing the child swap? SOmeone walks up with their 15 yr old and wants to use it, claiming child swap. :rolleyes:

I had a cousin who was so tall, she could have ridden every ride by age 4 1/2. So what then, you are SOL b/c your kid is on the far side of the bell curve?

I see that technically, the CM doesn't have to allow this to happen if the child is tall enough to ride. If the child chickens out, and a parent stays behind, how does that work? Say I go on the ride. I get back. Now my DH wants to go, so we swap the kid. Where is he in line? The very end again???

Yes he is at the end of the line or you could both use FP. Another thing to do is have your child go through the line with you since she is tall enough. If your child chickens out at the loading point there is a chance of the CMs letting one parent wait with the child off to the side at the load point until the first parent gets back.

We were just at Disney three weeks ago and used this kid swap a lot. We went with five people, one who is 9 months old. We only used the swap when we had fast passes for rides. So, when we would go get fast passes, we would get four, since our youngest didn't have a valid ticket. Then when it was time to ride, we would tell the CM at the fast pass entrance that we wanted to kid swap. They would give us a special pass that allowed the person sitting out and two more people to ride again. So, three of us would ride first, then the person sitting out and our two boys would ride again. My kids loved it because they got to ride all the big rides twice in a row. We never had any trouble with it, the CM would just want to see who was sitting out before giving us the extra ticket. I suppose that is so that you don't try to cheat the system. I believe that you can do this on any ride but our littlest man rode everything he could and loved it! Hope this helps. Definitely take advantage of it, especially if the crowds are big!

We've done rider swap in the past. Bit works out good. But if the line is long someone in your party has to wait it out!!!
