What items have y'all seen security confiscate before? The only items I have seen them confiscate were five pairs of bug eyes (Tough to be a bug 3d glasses from Animal Kingdom) at EPCOT. Someone had just put them all in one bag and security just kept pulling them out.

I was behind a guy in line who clearly had never been to disney before. Switchblade in the backpack, and what looked like several cases of beer and random food in a rolling cooler. Can you say disney virgin? Did he really think they were gonna let him in with the contents of the nearest mini-mart rolling along behind him? Plus, what exactly was he going to do with that switchblade? Gut fish for dinner? The Disney Security ppl looked thoroughly amused by this guy and his family.

Wasn't there a time when you weren't allowed to bring food into the parks?

I am so sorry....this reminds me of my BIL and SIL. We were discussing Disney and they have never been. They were saying how they want my niece (now 2) to be a bit older etc So when we were talking food in the parks and where we are going to eat etc my SIL said "Well, I'll just bring our lunches and all of her snacks and drinks in a cooler and put it in a wagon to pull around the park.". I just stared at her! :lookaroun

Mind you, this is the woman who brings not just the mega diaper bag stuffed to the brim with clothes, toys etc, but also a bag of food for her daughter and her own high chair seat thing to attach to a chair any time she goes out, even when it is 5 minutes from the house....I kid ya not (and remember my niece is 2!!!)

I would really hate to see what she would try to pack to bring into the park for a day...... (but at least I know she wouldn't pack a knife...LOL)

I recently saw them confiscate a steak knife. The funny part was watching the man whose backpack the knife came from say, "Now how am I going to cut up the apples I brought for my kids?"

Thats funny that most of you have seen security confiscate knives. I carry a pocket knife on me at all times. As a Carpenter i use a knife a lot during a work day and i was a Fire Fighter. So subconsciously i have my knife on me at all times. I almost always forget to take it off me when at Disney, last year a was entering EPCOT and a security guard notice it on my side and ask me to put it in the car. That was the first time they have ever said anything to me about it.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand people like this. Maybe it is because I don't have kids yet but I don't see the point in dragging that much crap around for one kid. They act like everything thats in those diaper bags is completely irreplaceable and there is no hope of ever being able to find those things anywhere else. Eh, maybe my views will change once I have kids but i doubt it. This guy on line in front of me was hysterical though. He was thoroughly upset that he couldnt bring in all this stuff. He even went as far as to tell the security people that if he couldn't bring the stuff in they should hold it for him so he didnt have to take the time to go back to the car. The security guys looked like it was all they could do to not burst out laughing. Sheer ignorance I say. What I was wondering is how this guy even got this far with the ginormous cooler. If he had taken the boat over from the parking lot he surely had to have passed numerous CM's who would have had the opportunity to say something. Oh well, I guess it didnt fall into their job description.

I have seen them take a bottle of liquor once and also take an egg sandwich because it was moldy.

:hurl: This makes me wonder if they would have let them bring in the egg sandwich if it wasnt moldy...:veryconfu I guess the security gaurd saw it was a lawsuit waiting to happen...I can see it now...some guy eats the moldy sandwich they werent even supposed to have in the first place, gets violently ill, and then tries to say it's Disney's fault because they let him bring in the park. (not to mention that its also Disney's fault that they built the parks in such a hot place and thats the reason why his sandwich was moldy...) This sounds like the standard frivolous Disney lawsuit, right? Lol. It sounds far fetched but we all know that there is some idiot out there just waiting for this to happen so they can sue...:zipit: Haha.

You are permitted to bring food into the parks, just not alcohol, coolers, etc. We bring in stuff on nearly every visit. I have often heard the security guards joking about it with people. One that comes to mind was going through our bag and kept stating "I'm looking for chocolate. Does anybody have any chocolate?" Bring whatever you want just use a little common sense and you will be fine.

You can bring food into the park within reason...no glass containers(baby food is an exception) and no hardsided coolers. I cannot tolerate gluten...so anything made of of wheat, barley, oats, etc etc is off-limits. I pack snacks for myself because my choices are so limited within the parks I'd rather avoid the frustration. I use a small soft sided cooler and use frozen juice pouches to keep things cool.

I did see film confiscated once...two guests were posing with the Queen of Hearts and thought it would be funny to pretend to pick the queen's nose....security swooped in ...pulled out the film and gave back an empty camera.

We've always take water into the parks. We'll have a 3 or 4 bottles between us and the guards either don't say anything or say "be sure to drink it since it's going to be hot!". They don't mind a limited amount. We usually also have snack crackers / granola bars and something for the little one.

Use common sense and don't forget to stow the extras in the lockers so you don't have to lug it around all day. :D

I have brought stuff in like Jolly Ranchers, Nutri Grain bars, bottles of water to refill at the water fountains, etc. and it has never been a problem...

You're not allowed to bring those wagons in the parks either. I remember someone trying to get it on the tram once and the CM told them they weren't allowed in the parks with it and had to bring it back to the car.
