Let’s be real here, we’re all smelling Frozen rather pungently with how Chapek is. It’ll be a far less necessary add-on than Incredicoaster ever was (The Original CS was already devoid of characters and theming).
You can repeat it as much as you want, the Matterhorn is very clearly the Swiss Alps Matterhorn mountain. It’s so specific that it can’t work as just a generic mountain. Even the mountain in Frozen is too specific of a look to work for the Matterhorn.

We thought that TOT was very clearly a Mission Style Art Decco hotel set in a land themed to a certain era and feeling of Hollywood and that trying to execute a heavy-handed overlay of a space power plant over it wouldn't work....

I still don't think it works, but Mission BO is still an overall hit with your average guest. Disney learned a lesson with Mission BO; people care more about IP than theme or quality. As long as it has characters we know and love and some thrills, people will eat it up and buy those T-shirts after the ride.

Habit Heroes and Superstar Limo, in the past, already more or less killed the addition of original IP to the parks here. Incredicoaster is the only time where the IP addition was an improvement.

Babies on sticks and Disney Store window figures placed around the coaster is an improvement? They went and gave an E-ticket "show scenes" that wouldn't be good enough for a Fantasyland dark ride. The only thing I like about the Incredicoaster is the new soundtrack.

The new soundtrack that has Incredible individuals yelling over it the whole time...

...and then came Galaxies Edge.

Oh you don’t have to tell me what’s wrong with the land. My point was the GOTG:MB lesson couldn’t have lasted long after they saw the response to GE. Of course, to your point they did kind of botch the whole IP thing. Which is why I have said we ll probably never see another original IP land again in our lifetimes. It’s counterintuitive. Especially when you don’t include the most popular characters of said IP.

Original IP land. Isn’t that an oxymoron?

The original had nearly no theming at all. Other than some creepy circus music and fake-wood, but you could see real wood and fake at all sorts of amusement parks around the state, which is something Walt would have wanted to have had defy. Admittedly, one could try and hem an original story around the few thematic elements it had, but then Habit Heroes took a massive chunk out of things, and so we’re stuck with using IP.

A land focusing on theme more than IP characters and thrills...All reinforcing an incorrect lesson. While having OT characters and a more thrilling Smugglers Run attraction would have helped, it doesn't fix the core problems with a land as a whole.

Not to mention the hubris of modern Disney, thinking they can ignore the fundamentals of what made both Star Wars and Disneyland American icons with this expansion.

It's quite sad really, to think what this expansion could have been with the right creative vision behind it.

What does Habit Heroes have to do with Incredicoaster?

And the ride is still themed to a wooden roller coaster. That hasn't changed. It's just a wooden roller coaster with static figures placed around it. If they wanted to remake the pier into Pixar Pier, the coaster could have been given a new look by making it look like giant toys/books/stuff creating a coaster in Andy's room. It could have added kelp, rockwork, bubbles, and other elements to make it the EOC.

The problem is; Screamin was always meant to act as the weenie and backdrop of that corner of the park. Its as much decoration and theming as it is an attraction. The land was themed to a 1920's pier and the coaster worked fine for that. They just needed to add another Disney-quality dark ride experience to the pier and give the entire pier the 1920's face lift and everything would have been great.

I have this cool idea for the Matterhorn if a version is ever made for another park, for example (or maybe even for a revamp). It would make the bobsleds work like actual bobsleds, turning it into more of a bobsled coaster. This allows for a variety of turns and twists as the bobsled moves along the track.

magic mountain at one point had a bobsled coaster ride. the ride was so inconsistent because of guest weight issues. some bobsleds would get stuck or go real slow.
anyone remember that ride? it was located in the back where the wooden coaster is or was. haven't been to magic in years. last time i went they had opened Goliath

The addition of babies on the stick was the worst idea for a coaster. If they wanted to create that effect they really should have used babies on sticks but with air cannons. the same simple effect used in the Haunted Mansion for the creepy ghost that pop up behind the graves.

I rode Sarajevo Bobsleds multiple times. Also rode the Cedar Point version, Disaster Transport. Loved them both.
