Trip Report **COMPLETED** The "Hey what's your name" and "I want to ride Home Depot" Trip Report

Hey all
We have been back for just about a day now so I figured why not start the Trip Report!
Also, I'm on call this week so its probably going to be a pretty sparse week sorry!

Who?
Also I am feeling lazy so I'm making abbreviations for mostly everyone
Left to right: My Dad (Jeff) - D, my nephew Max - no abbreviation, my sister Betta (her real name is Elizabeth) - B, my Mom (Mary) - M, Me! (Megan) - no abbreviation, my sister Jill - J and my brother-in law Nick - N

When?
April 27, 2018 - May 5, 2018 (B and Max from April 29-May 5)

Where?
Port Orleans French Quarter :) Our favorite moderate

Why?
Celebrating my Mom's 5 year cancer free anniversary! (oh, and it was J and N's honeymoon - aka familymoon :joyfull: )

Day 1 April 27, 2018
2 am...2 am came very quickly this morning...especially since the NFL draft started the night before and I couldn't sleep until we made our first pick :joyfull:
Nonetheless, up I got and got ready to leave for the airport.
We got fancy with our dates sign this time :inlove:

We shoved all 5 *yes 5* suitcases into our car and soon enough we were at the airport after a short 15 minute drive (bonus...no traffic at 3 am).
We got to the Southwest counter just after it opened and the one worker was OBSESSED with our luggage. She literally told us if our luggage doesn't show up in Orlando it was because she stole it :joyfull: Our luggage is Minnie Mouse...J actually has the same luggage and the worker was trying to steal hers too and then realized we were all related!
TSA precheck wasn't even open so we went through regular security which was only a bummer because it meant I have to take out my computer and iPad which is annoying :cautious::hilarious:
I was wearing my Wishes shirt that N got me for Christmas!
DSC_8342.jpg

May you rest in peace Wishes
IMG_6526.JPG

There actually weren't any food places open yet so we sat around a bit waiting for J and N to arrive. J actually lost her kindle because she didnt take it out for security (so TSA did) and had to go grab it after an overhead page alerted her of such :joyfull:
After she grabbed it we all went to Tim Hortons but that wasn't open yet either..
Finally 4 am hit us and our usual bagel place opened so we headed there :)
DSC_8343.jpg

I didn't take any pictures apparently but we shared a few bagels and got some water.
Soon enough it was time to board our flight. We got in line and we were like A20-24 I think. There were quite a few people ahead of us but I didn't say anything even though I knew they were probably after us. Eventually a woman in front of me did ask what their numbers were and the woman responds "Group A..." as if the rest of us weren't A :joyfull:. She then said what does it matter if we are all A anyway. The only reason I bring this up is because when we got up to gate to scan our tickets the Southwest worker kicked them out of line and made them wait until it was their turn (they were numbers like 40-41 or something). My Mom turned to me and said "burnnnnn." :joyfull::joyfull:

Day 1 continued
For breakfast my Dad got tater tots and bacon
DSC_8365.jpg

We noticed that the dishes were new and were some weird hybrid plastic type material. Half the time we ate there we got those dishes and the other half we got paper...and also half the time real silverware and the other half plastic. It was inconsistent at best which was little odd :)
Nick got the crispy fried chicken on a biscuit
DSC_8367.jpg

Jill got the croissant breakfast sandwich (eggs and ham)....she said it was gross but I would assume its because we don't usually like ham so I'm not sure why she even picked it :joyfull:
DSC_8368.jpg

Also, J's MB wouldn't charge and the CM told her it was because she reached the limit of spending.......we hadn't spent anything yet?! It turns out it was because her room charge got put on the MB charges for some reason so quickly it was fixed. At this point Jill was feeling like her trip wasn't off to a great start and then proceeded to name all the reasons why....1. Nick's cold coffee 2. couldn't charge on her MB and 3. her gross sandwich :joyfull: I only bring this up because something big gets added onto the list in a few minutes :)
When we were finished with breakfast we headed to the bus stop to catch a bus to the MK (actually we just missed a bus that was full...the driver said he could take 3 more families but then decided he couldnt take 5 people...:hilarious:) !

DSC_8375.jpg

We finally got to the MK and went to enter...only Jill's MB wasn't working and the CM said it was because we never activated her annual pass....whoops! This would be Jill's 4th reason her trip was not going well...especially since the Guest Services line was INSNANE.
My parent's and I decided to take some pictures while we waited.

We sat down expecting it to be a ling wait for J and N but they came through the gate like 3 minutes later...turns out she just needed to go to Will Call! Phew! (We were also nervous because her AP is under her maiden name and her ID is her married but that wasn't an issue).
We headed into the park and first stopped for some PP pictures

Bacon and tater tots, can't get much better than that. Hopefully things smoothed out for your sister. I was stuck with that fast pass situation too, once. Nothing worse than being all pysched up for the magic and then hit a wall once your about to step inside the park.

N had never been to Memento Mori before so they spent some time in there...
DSC_8408.jpg

I distinctly remember it being this exact time we noticed there were cheerleaders EVERYWHERE! I thought I checked the schedule on EPSN but apparently I did not...I mean they were totally fine but we have had run ins with them before :joyfull::joyfull:
DSC_8409.jpg

We wandered over towards our next FP but made some stops along the way

DSC_8411.jpg

For some reason J decided we should stop at the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade since we never did it before so we did...

It was actually pretty fun!

Bacon and tater tots became our go to breakfast for almost the entire trip :joyfull: After that things definitely smoothed out for Jill thank goodness...it was indeed a rough start!

Meh...I wasn't thrilled about it

LOL in all fairness Nick worked until like midnight (and worked since like 5 am the day before because one of his cooks called in) so he slept approx one hour

No wonder he looks so tired I don't think I could have kept my eyes open!

What a great start to the trip! I always get anxious at the airport because the Nickel City Café doesn't open until 4 and that is where we usually get our breakfast sandwiches. The Buffalo airport always looks like a ghost town for the early flights! Love the bacon and tot breakfast! LOVE light fixtures and lantern looking lights at WDW! They are always pretty and Dan jokes with me that of all the things I take pictures of the lights! HAHAHA!

We always eat at Nickel City Cafe too! We always get bagels in the morning and Anchor Bar at night if we fly out late. I have flown out in the mornings before but I guess not quite that early because I never saw everything closed before (our other early flight was like 5:40)...I was super worried we weren't going to be able to eat anything :joyfull::joyfull: The light fixtures are so interesting..my sister and I were saying we should publish a book of all the lights :hilarious:

After our ride J and N decided to head out of the park so N could get some sleep since he slept one hour before we left (because of work). Unfortunately they had a very long bus ride so I am not sure he got any rest...
My Mom and Dad and I headed over to Frontierland for our next FP...BTMR!
The only picture I took was from the que of the castle...whoops!
DSC_8443.jpg

Before our vacation I did the 21 Day Fix and on my hardest days I kept dreaming of Casey's fries and "plastic cheese" so I mobile ordered it and we headed over there for a snack so I could fufill that "dream" :joyfull::joyfull:
I said we were there but we still waited over 20 minutes for my order to be ready  When it was ready we went inside only to find absolute chaos and it was very difficult to even get to the mobile order window. Casey's is always a bit chaotic but this was crazy...they need a better system I think in there. After like 30 minutes we finally got our fries and cheese!
DSC_8445.jpg

It was very tasty...just like I dreamed...but I was getting a bit stressed that it took so long because we had plans coming up for the evening very quickly!
My Mom's face was probably like this because the whole thing was a bit overwhelming (combined with the fact that a couple sat under our table and essentially pushed us over so we all had to squeeze into a corner).
IMG_6536.JPG

We headed out of the park after Casey's. We had JUST missed a POFQ bus but I spotted a Minnie Van right by us so we used the Lyft app and picked it up!
Our drivers name was Jeffrey and he was super nice!
I sent this picture to J since they waited long for a bus and we skipped the bus...because I am mean...:joyfull:
IMG_6537.JPG

Dad's first Minnie Van!

file-10.jpg

I got our room ready text while waiting for BTMR so we grabbed our carryons and headed there!
DSC_8446.jpg

We did not get a refurbished room but that didn't matter to us! They were doing all the rest of the rooms in our building though which caused some trouble at nap time when Max and B came.

Next up: an evening at the Polynesian

O.M.G that sounds amazing right now. I often find myself "dreaming" of my favorite Disney treats...kind of sad really when you think about it, but that's why I only tell my Disney friends - they get it! :joyfull:

I've been dreaming of the Ohana dinner and Kona Cafe's pineapple macadamia pancakes since I've been back home. And the honey marscapone cheesecake and the sugar cane shrimp at the F&G kiosks. Even the breakfast burrito at Yak and Yeti Local Foods Cafe :hungry:

Yeah-"under the table"? Muffin looks yummy.
HM is the BEST first ride (also - my favorite in MK)
Love the Minnie Vans-saved my DD's backside when she ran late for our ADR at 50's Prime Time (on my birthday!!) in March. I passed the time in the Tune-In lounge though:joyfull:

Also-I think I would have fallen asleep on a bus at that point from being up so early! Ya'll did great to do so much!
