Trip Report **COMPLETED** The 4 M's Go to Disney: a 4th of July Extravaganza

Hello everyone! We are back from the World so I figured I should start my Trip Report :)

Who?
My Mom (Mary) and I (Megan)

ANDDDD (you are not just stuck with the 2 of us)
My sister Elizabeth (we call her Betta) and my nephew Max

Where?
The Contemporary :) This was Betta and Max's first stay at the Contemporary - Max's first Deluxe stay :)

When?
July 4-7, 2019

Why?
We all have off on Fridays so with the 4th being on a Thursday it was a free 4 day weekend!

The title?
Max liked to say that the 4 M's were going to Disney: Max, Mommy (Betta obviously), Megan, Mary :hilarious: My Mom pointed out the 4 M's and he loved it!

T-1 Day July 3, 2019
After work we headed to meet Betta and Max at the hotel we were staying at across the street from the airport. My sister and Max live about an hour away from us so it is much easier for them to stay at a hotel before a trip - especially one where we have to get up pretty early.
We had an incident bringing our suitcases up to the room and my Mom accidentally tripped on this sign so we felt the need to document it :hilarious:

After we got Betta and Max settled into their room we headed to Cracker Barrel to get some dinner with my Dad before he dropped us off for the night.
We could see the airport from our room :)

July 4, 2019 Day 1
We slept decently well and woke up at 4 am - this particular hotel we stayed in was much better than the usual one we stay in across from the airport so that was nice.

My sister drove us over to the Airport so we did not have to take the hotel shuttle. She parked in a lot I was very unfamiliar with and we ended up having to take a shuttle from there to the airport which took more time than I anticipated. Naturally I was stressed out. This parking lot is cheaper which makes sense but I am spoiled by where we usually park when we are with my Dad :joyfull:
Thankfully check-in and security were fast and we made our way to grab some food for breakfast.

My Mom and I had bagels

Max had some mini donuts and my sister had a breakfast sandwich

I haven't bought a single Disney movie since the announcement came out. I sure hope they include everything like they said they would!!

Agreed. I feel like I am missing out on all these vault movies that I would typically buy!

I bought some silicone ones but I can't get the chemical type smell off them.. washing, and airing out hasn't helped. I finally bought some other ones from Disney, but they are not foldable or compact.

Oh really ? mine are dishwasher safe and the dishwasher got the smell right out of them!

Day 2 July 5, 2019
For some reason (aka Max's chronic allergy cough :joyfull: ) we all woke up around 6:45 and started to get ready for the day.
We headed down to Contempo Cafe for some breakfast once we were all ready
Croissant for my Mom (I did not take these photos hence the darkness/blurriness haha)

I got a side of potatoes and a side of bacon

Max got Mickey waffles

And my sister got a sandwich with egg and ham I think

After our (very long thanks to a 3 year old being a 3 year old :hilarious: ) breakfast we headed to the monorail so we could head over to Epcot

Max looks terrified but he loved it!

After our ride we headed to check out some of the cars! Betta was in the bathroom so we played in the cars while we waited and then spoiled him with some candy and a new toy car - what are aunts and grammies for ?! Max is so good though he never asks for anything and when I gave him a ton of car options he picked the smallest Test Track one :)

It was time to use our FP so we got back in line. Max decided (while in line) that he had to go to the bathroom (despite being asked before we got in the line :hilarious: ) so Betta left to take him and my Mom stayed in line.

Day 1 continued

Max and Betta ended up not being too far behind us so we waited for them in the next loading area after you design your cars.
Max picked me as his ride partner :joyfull:

Again he loved it despite his face 🥰
After Test Track we gave Max the option of Spaceship Earth or Sorain'. We had a FP for SE but Soarin' had a short wait. He picked Soarin' but changed his mind along the way so SE it was! I was secretly happy - I like Soarin' but I love SE and if we didn't ride it at this time we would miss it this trip.
DSC_0663.JPG

We waited in a very long slow pass (as I like to call slow fast pass lines) and the ride ended up stopping many times while we were on it.

DSC_0667.JPG

Soarin' ended up jumping up in time quite a bit while we were in line for SE so we were glad we skipped that but with all the stopping I was getting nervous because we had a dining reservation coming up.
Thankfully we finally made it off the ride after about 15 minutes and we headed out of Epcot. Short Epcot visit for us this trip!
Oh hey - no more stone picture things

Disney's Robin Hood movie is a perfect example of the times that Disney recycled animation. There are a lot of similarities between Jungle Book and Robin Hood. Most obvious is Little John and Baloo looking the same. And there's a shared dancing between Snow White and Maid Marion. There's a lot more examples but it's the only ones I can remember lol. I loved Robin Hood when I was young so I was really happy to buy it when it was available on Amazon for $5 :)

And speaking of Amazon, I also purchased foldable, reusable metal straws with silicone tips for our trip next year. I don't mind paper straws but sometimes it just isn't good enough - like when drinking a melting Citrus Swirl!

Absolutely LOVE your 4th of July shirts! They are great! Max is adorable! So awesome that you were able to get a theme park view room at the Contempo. What a great way to spend the 4th!

Max’s Spider-Man sandals are very cute

Funny you mention that. Max has no idea who Spider Man is and CMs would comment all the time about him being spider man and he would be so confused haha

Oh really? Thats super interesting. Maybe I should look for it on amazon! As annoying as it is to carry the straws they are so worth it
