I personally don't think Disney themselfs sell the cast uniforms. I have seen them on EBay myself. I'm guessing they were basically looted from the company by unloyal CMs.

negative...these are all over eBay being sold by two different companies who specifically purchase surplus FROM Disney.

AND if they were looted then they would remain property of Disney in which case arrests could be made for trafficking in stolen goods.

Hmm. Didn't know Mickey did that.

And regarding taking costumes home: I'm a fan of the fact that people can keep and launder their own costumes, HOWEVER, I feel that the act of simply wearing them in public should be a fireable offense. Nothing ruins the novelty of a Haunted Mansion costume as much as seeing a butler at the Publix deli counter...

I don't think it should.

Yeah fire some guy trying to grab dinner or whatever on his way home because he didn't have time to change. That is not overreacting at all.

Before they changed the way they did Costuming, time to change was BUILT INTO the daily schedule, so there goes that excuse.
The fact that they save a whole lot of money with the new system was more of a reason to switch than the whole "detergent causes allergic reactions" reason.

It WAS built into it. So it still seems excessive to fire someone leaving work still in costume under the current rules.

I apologize for not being clearer; I thought it went without saying: with my theoretical changing of the desciplinary policy, scheduling would also revert to the paid-changing system.

granted I do not work for Disney but I have to laundry my uniform from park I work for because of allergy problems to soap used. I can only use 2 brands

at least based on Dutch Wonderland where I work the costume will not get you in, it is the photo id that is needed
I love Dutch Wonderland! So many fond memories of being there when my siblings and I were young and then many years later when my children were small! What a fun, intimate, little amusement park!
