Alright so going off of @D Hindley 's suggestion -- I just made a sample list for all of the lands that could be good targets to aim for in this next phase of the brainstorming.

We have more E and Ds than Disneyland or WDW -- but I'm not too worried because it's close 9 vs 11 E's for example.
We also have less Table Service and Shops than WDW's Magic Kingdom -- which makes sense and is realistic. Let's shoot for something like this to start!

Nice! I agree with all this! What I think we could do is like you said, develop the park in full --- but have a timeline of expansion. So for instance a 20 year plan. If the park opens in 2023...this would be the opening day lineup...then the plan through 2043. So that we have our "full" park still placed at the end!
I think this is good. On other non-disney projects we have normally only gone as far as 10 years but disney don't seem to add attractions every year making 20 years a good amount of time to expand especially with a seconded gate. Would the seconded gate be there for opening day or in the next 20 years?

I'd probably assume it would be later on -- however for the sake of just armchair imagineering...we could have it open with our park.

What I'm thinking is let's say the 2nd park has Marvel in it. Well Avengers 6 might have something we don't know yet...so it would be hard to place an Avengers 3 based attraction...way off 20 years from now -- or a Dr. Strange attraction based on the film that just came out. So for argument sake I'd say we just have it open at the same time once we get to the 2nd park!:)

^^ For comparison sake -- this is what the new narrowed down list would look like. It's at least something. I would like to get it down further but for now it's a start!:bookworm:

On narrowing Pacific Wharf.

I'd anticipated whinnowing the restaurants. The first draft list was a "foodie heaven" thing like DL's New Orleans, which it will remain to an extent.

Only table service - Club 32

Quick service - Mandarin Kitchen (fuse the two Chinatown eateries into one, somehow maintain dim sum as quick service)

Additional quick service - Sydney Duck's Saloon (it's too thematically tied-in to lose...actual food is done "food stand style" like DL's Golden Horseshoe, with the show/attraction component justifying the additional space used)

Food stand - Sarah's Sourdough Shack

Food stand - Bayside Bites & Confectionary

Least essential food stand (we can cut it if needed) - Trolley Tacos

For attractions, I fear there might wind up being a little redundancy between Museum of the Weird and the in-development Chinatown dark ride, so eventually we might fuse those ideas rather than lose one.

Shops can be culled later with ease.
I was also going to say that I think Museum of the Weird might be a walkthrough? Not too sure on that though.

And yeah similar to Pandora -- they had to cut the bike roller coaster due to budget..so I could realistically see them cutting either the Chinatown dark ride or Museum of the Weird for real world budget sake.

So is the Hub/Fantasia Gardens going to be considered it's own land or have we moved away from that idea?
It's more of an extension of the Sydney Waterfront (official name tbd)

Alright so @StevenU you can post your list if you'd like...

I went through and tried to narrow it down a bit further. This is by no means the final list, just my thoughts on how to make it as close to actual parks as possible, while maintaining our uniqueness and great concepts. A few of the attractions left off I will annotate as additions for the 2nd park. I mostly ended up taking out my own attractions to narrow things down and keep most of everyone else's stuff.

Have we talked about the second gate? An entire park dedicated to SEA would be awesome.
Yeah that would be a very cool park!

Also @kmbmw777 had mentioned designing a scenario where Universal comes to Sydney after our success and tasks us to design a Universal Sydney Resort for competition -- and to mix up using Disney IPs and stuff.

Would we be working on Universal Sydney? Would it like be something we do after this project or separate?

After this is over it can be a separate project!

If people want a change of pace from Disney they can work on Universal Sydney. If people want to continue expanding the Disneyland Sydney Resort with the 2nd park and resorts they can do that too. Or float in between both!

Gives people something new to work on in the future.

There are several projects that (in my opinion) - Club 32 could be tasked to do
  • The Universal competition park project could be fun and change up place
  • This resort is obviously gonna need 1 or 2 hotels right off the getgo
  • A second gate cuz this resort will obviously be a smashing hit
  • more hotels
  • Downtown Disney anyone?
  • A new cruise dock sounds like the perfect time to expand the cruise ship arsenal

When I first read about Progressland, I thought it would be somewhat like Future World, based on Walt's E.P.C.O.T. Here however, it's really more like World's Fair what with IASW, so I'm just a little confused on the title.

Progressland was a name of one of the pavilions that Walt and his team designed for the World's Fair
COP_1.jpg

While not an exact replica of the 1964 World's Fair -- the land itself has been described as a hopeful future inspired by elements of the world's fair, through cultural unity, dreams, and progress. That's why small world is listed there.
