I've got a few ideas for the stage show, and surrounding area. I would love to do an outside courtyard, almost like Fantasy Faire, this would be the "foyer" that guests would wait it before moving into the amphitheater. The theater itself would easily allow for shows to be changed on a regular basis, for example, during Halloween we'd have a villains type show.

Going further on the small world discussion (sorry for the mini-tangent):p but I remember @Voxel brought this up on a podcast once that...everything in Fantasyland has a story. But what's the story of small world?

There is no real story -- except a prayer for peace and unity perhaps (maybe that's why it is in "Fantasyland":hilarious:, but it's only the nostalgia of it being in Fantasyland all our lifetimes that makes us want to place it in there.

This goes to the whole presentational vs traditional design thing. Epcot was originally done mostly with presentational design whereas most things in Fantasyland are new traditional. The only reason IASW doesn't fit in Fantasyland is because of this aesthetic. Interestingly the reason it DOES fit in DL is because it's somewhat removed and placed in its own area there. Small world has a highly experiential story with very little explicit story - something I'd like to see brought back to theme parks but not in Fantasyland.

Have to ask her! Not sure!

But the ride through is pretty much complete.
You can go to http://www.themeparkconcepts.com/projects/jolly-holiday/ to see everything I've done for the attraction. It's definitely heavily in progress. I want to model the whole thing but my modeling skills aren't there yet (or anywhere lol) - nevertheless most of it is already worked out. It was originally intended to go in the U.K. Pavilion at Epcot and I have a facade drawn up that is based on that, but as long as the facade allows an entry into a London back alley the entrance is somewhat flexible. There wasn't anything much designed outside of the ride - it's pretty self contained.

What did you guys think of the peoplemover attraction taking the place of the classic (tiny/short) dark rides that I posited in that one post?

Oh I did have it exit into a gift shop. Hadn't really though much about what it would be like.

As far as any other special features I planned to have a live one-man band in the queue, and with the new Jimmy Fallon ride inspiring me I think the queue I've already designed would work well in that kind of format - letting people just stroll around Cherry Tree Lane wherever they'd like. But that wouldn't change much of the footprint or anything.

Btw - if you guys ever want to do an Adventurland that's the other project I've got on the back burner. Though this Fantasyland project already seems to be becoming a behemoth.

No worries about Mary Poppins. It doesn't need to anything else if you hadn't planned on it. It was more for me to know what attractions don't have additional environmental elements so if we have a plethora of those later on, we can place it with other similar attractions if need be.

I'd like to work on Adventureland too! But as seems to be the theme here we should probably do one thing at a time:hilarious:

Someone mentioned an Alice ride, and like I've had this idea for one for ages - and it needs development because I still see the ride vehicle as a bed, ala bedknobs and broomsticks and that doesn't make much sense but otherwise...

The idea is you board your vehicle in a private room, like the old back to the future ride. There's no obvious way the vehicle can leave though. No track. No big openings. Then like a portal or star field effect happens and the vehicle goes into wonderland.

The whole of wonderland is like one giant environment the vehicles move about freely (trackless obviously), pass by each other, etc. each time you'd experience only like 3/5 of the total scenes. Since it's Alice and all the scenes don't relate to each other anyway it perfect because the order you experience the scenes wouldn't matter. It would always end with the the queen and characters chasing you "off with their heads" and a very frenetic pace where at the climax you travel through the portal/star field and BOOM you're back in the room you started in with no idea of how you got back.

Was sketching up a loose plan for it last night - I was thinking the queue was like a tour through Alice's mansion. A small I'm writing this - if the portal was a mirror I think maybe a "through the looking glass" idea might work. Anyway here it is. Just an idea

What do you think of having the Chimney Sweeps come out to entertain guests every so often with a climax of Step in Time before being chased off by the Admiral's canon who has been heckling the sweeps the entire time?

Maybe at night time? I had planned on projection mapping chimney sweeps on the roof of the facade at night. Admiral Boom's canon is already planned to go off on the quarter hour with faux comical destruction happening around the queue each time.

What you're describing sounds more like a mini-show - which I'm not sure would work well inside a queue. Would work better outside the facade as a nighttime minature entertainment offering, but then you couldn't have the admiral.

Never mind. I guess I didn't understand your vision.
