Reviewer's Comments:
Summary: Wretched!

This is quite possibly the worst ride ever conceived in any human beings mind. The fact that its been around so long and so many people like it, point to the degradation of our society. The only reason you should ride this ride is if you want to mentally and quite possibly physically injure the person you would ride it with. I believe Dante perceived "It's a Small World" the ride as the 6th circle of hell. Avoid at all costs. AT ALL COSTS!

-as you can tell i think this ride is way past its prime and costing us money that could be used on better things. people, JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS OLD DOES NOT MAKE IT GOOD. i understand some still enjoy this ride. i appreciate that, but the overwhelming consensus is this ride is a waste of good space.

make a new ride! a tarzan ride! or beauty and the beast! or something NEW.

actually it's a small world is what society should be. it lets us realize that the earth isn't that big and every culture is important, and we should put away petty thinking and think about the childreen of the world. i think it definitly needs updateing and to be moved to EPCOT along with carosel of progress.

Tell my 4 year old that IASW is old and out-dated.. Being on of her favorite rides, and see her getting excited after pointing out the smallest details to me (in the ride) is one of the best things to be experienced at WDW for me..

Getting rid of WDW, CoP, or Pirates would be a dagger in the heart of Disney.

HARDCARD THATS MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY ( oh sorry for all caps!!) but it is different when you go with children..same thing with my little girl she goes crazy when we go on that ride, just hearing her sing along with that song is priceless...

It's now obvious the starter of this thread is a professional agitator. Since joining, he's posted two threads that rip into something lots of us love with remarkably ignorant comments, and then sat back and watched as we respond to it.

I suggest we ignore this idiot from now on. I know I will.

If "It's A Small World" is the 6th circle of hell - then I am hoping for eternal damnation!

"SmithGett" you have absolutely no idea what Disney is about.
My husband and I are both U.N. Peacekeepers and that ride represents everything we are striving for. We have witnessed
some horrific sights in our postings and IASW reminds us of hope, imagination, innocence and most of all peace.

In fact we like the ride so much we got married on it a few months ago!

Don't touch the classics!

Well, here is my .02 I love IASW, we ride it at least once every trip. It reminds me of our yearly trips to DL and the good times I had w/ my parents and grandparents. Now I get to share that with my children. I have never bothered with the paddlewheel boats, mainly because we can ride those up and down the Mississippi any time we have the desire, so we skip that, but that doesnt mean just because we don't care for it it should be removed. IASW is just so Disney, almost anyone could sing that tune and immediately people could make the connection.

It's a small (cruel) world

Well, as you can see, I am new to the forum. I am a Disney fanatic. My wife doesn't really understand why we go to Disney World so much. We have been married for 3 years and we have gone to Disney World 4 times.

Anyways, it is good to see everyones opinions on the parks. I was curious as to why River Country was closed down. When did it close?:(

We are going on another family vacation this fall to Disney World. My sister in law's family is also going (and they have never been). We are staying at Fort Wilderness (in the cabins). Has anyone ever stayed there? Are they pretty roomy and nice? Is it easy access to everything? We were wanting to get a place with a kitchen, so we wouldn't be spending a lot of money on food at the parks. Anyones opinions would be appreciated.

Now for my story on it's a small world. I was in college and I brought my college girlfriend and fraternity buddy (and his girl). We decided to go ahead and go on this ride (b/c I was the only one who has been on before and against my better judgement). We were about half way through and the ride completely stops. We were in the middle of about 6 different languages singing that song for 30 minutes. I was about to go crazy. I really considered swimming for the side and walking out of there all wet. It was awful. I haven't riden on the ride since, but now that my son is 2, I am sure that come fall, I will be on that ride with him.

Will there be anything new this fall at the parks? Thanks everyone and sorry for the boring saga.

i understand some still enjoy this ride. [/B]

that is an understatement- this ride still packs 'em in! It is not my favorite ride in the park, but i do not believe taking it out is a good thing. More is better - leave the ride in, and still bring in new rides. The Magic Kingdom has plenty of room for expansion. There are only a few rides I would like to see taken out of the MK - and iasw is not one of them - not only because it is a walt classic, but because it is still very popular.
it is about to close for a lengthy refurbishment, and will be better than ever when it re-opens, and probably more popular than every - especially if the outer facade gets built, to draw in more crowds...

One of the wonderful things about WDW is there is something for everyone, young and old a like (and young at heart.) If you don't like something, just skip it. As said many times before IASW is a wonderful ride for young children, there is so much to see, something different each time. Not every ride in all the parks is going to be every persons favorite.

Or better yet, if you don't like MK don't go.

Different people, like differnt things.

(BTW Tree house is fun for a change with children too.)

Overwhelming consensus? hehehe Silly.

I rode this ride last year and while it's a simple ride with a song that stays with you, it's display of all people being happy together is a GOOD message. Especially in these times.

It's funny you emphasis NEW since you made a point (in all caps too) that just because a ride is old doesn't make it good. Wouldn't that apply to the word new too?

Sorry all for feeding the troll. :-)
