Circle of Life... Why is it still there?

I think the message is great, as is the idea of having an A-ticket style attraction to balance out the E and D-tickets already in the pavilion. That said, I think the presentation could be updated - change it to digital or 3D, bring in bigger, more awe-inspiring footage with the help of DisneyNature, etc. It's a good attraction but could be a great one, and the theater rarely is more than a quarter full.

For what it's worth, I've heard management have eyed the space to be repurposed as a Land pavilion elevator lobby. The current lone elevator (back by the bathrooms) often has a long wait in itself, just from guests in ECVs and wheelchairs trying to get down to Soarin'.

That is a good ides to use DisneyNature to update this film. If they have the resources it seems like a no brainer.

While I agree that perhaps it is time for an updated movie I honestly like the simplicity of a movie. Not everything has to be AA's or fireworks or E-ticket. The Land pavillion is a very nice mix of entertainment genre's where you can take a journey through highs and lows. Soarin obviously being the peak (if it had quality projection IMO) and then a nice boat ride, a movie, a good dining venue with a pretty neat twist (the rotation) or a decent QS downstairs but that pavillion seems like a nice journey and looking at it from a youngsters perspective too much fluff puts them in stimulus overload and ultimately results in an afternoon crash.

I visit it for the carpet on the wall in the waiting area. :geek:

Yes I'm a nerd who takes pictures of carpets and murals:

The movie is okay-ish. I actually enjoy it, especially the first two minutes or so. Not a match for Symbiosis of course, but that is a difficult word and so gets kids crying so hard from being confronted with exciting new thoughts that they can't even be calmed down with four snack credits and the promise their twelve year old legs won't have to walk all the way to Nemo but can rest in the stroller, so Symbiosis had to go, along with mature aspirations and a unified theme of the pavilion. :cautious:

I like it for the music in used in the pre-show video - would be amazing to find out what it actually is called some of the pieces.

I wonder as well, how old the folk in that pre-show video are now. Probably taken their kids to the show some of them.

It's a place to rest. I think they need to just update the movie because as many have said, it's relevance is clear in today's society, especially with the new "e-trash" that's out there!;)

But isn't a majority of epcot a "place to rest" apparently come from everyone on these forums???

Circle of Life
Ellen's Energy Adventure
Impressions De France
Living with the Land

Heck, with that said.. Even EO is a resting spot. EPCOT seems to have a lot of those.

But, I understand where you're coming from.

Yes, it has a good message, but the purpose is lost if no one is actually watching it. On the occasions that I have been in or walked passed CoL, it has been empty or very near empty. If not replaced, the show needs to at least be updated.

I appreciate the message of Circle of Life and its potential to inform younger audiences.

Although I have seen it many times, I enjoy viewing the film during each of my trips to Epcot.

If Soarin' was focused more on biomes, The Land would truly have a cohesive environmental storyline, from beauty to preservation.

I like the way you put that. I'm looking at this differently now and yea it should just be updated!

That also got me thinking, Wonders of Life was actually mended together pretty well too! The bad thing was the circus theme. Looked pretty cheesy.

And like a said previously, KK and FR could have easily been added to WoL with it's health theme.

We need more buildings with multiple attractions in them.. That connect well together like The Land!
