That's pretty cool to hear. Crawford is a celebrity but is actually acting as a parent and not a friend.

There were ABC family shows I wasn'tallowed to watch either while I was growing up, b/c the kids were disrespectful and rude to their parents and eachother.

Interesting. Glad to hear she is acting like a parent. I may not agree with her decision, but I'm glad she is doing what she thinks is best to raise a young lady.

They are only banned from watching one show? There was a whole blacklist when I was growing up, and even though I'm 21 now, there are still shows I wouldn't dare watch in our house. :lookaroun
But seriously, kids are very impressionable. In fact, this is the same exact reason Caillou (the cartoon show on PBS following a toddler) was taken off the air for awhile. He was a really whinny, demanding, temper tantrum throwing two year old that made a lot of parents terrible twos phase even more terrible. A lot of parents didn't allow their children to watch this show and some even pettitioned the show. After three years of not creating new shows, he was re-introduced as an older, nicer child.
All I know is that I'm afraid of what's going to be on T.V. when I have kids. So I have been collecting various DVD box sets of cartoons and shows I watched growing up to have on hand in case my blacklist is exceptionally long :ROFLOL:.

She is banned in our house now as well for the not so great role model things that she chose to do off camera. As much as my DD liked her I did not think it was a healthy thing for her to think that it was okay for Miley to behave the way that she did. I am disappointed that she is still the Disney Teen Queen after all that. I know that she makes them money but still.... and they aren't gettting anymore of mine as far as Hannah Montana goes.

Ive found that most 14 year olds and younger dont have the financial resources to purchase their own clothing. This should make it relatively simple to control how they dress. Also saying no is not illegal.

You cant stop them liking manufactured pap, but you can always expose them to proper music.

Good point, LOL

And yes, letting your child think that MC & HM music is good, is bad parenting. Bad bad quality. In retrospect, im sure my parents werent high fiveing me when i was listening to Motley Crue at that age. Still, the Crue kicks HM .

As a responsable parent I took my offspring to see the Crues last tour and explained the artistic merits and renaissance influenced symbolism of Tommy Lees Tittie cam
