Cinderella's Royal Breakfeast

 Hello,
I was hoping you guys could give some encouragement regarding CRT Breakfeast. The cost is $19.99 for January. I was lucky to get a 10 am for a MK early opening day. That should be time to generate some hunger. I am just curious what the Big Deal is to pay so much for a mouse shaped pancake.
Please do not think I have no WDW spirit, I would rather spend that type of money on a lunch or dinner occassion. I have been going to WDW since 1994 every year. Never been to CRT. If you guys can enlighten me, I should be grateful. How did this event become so desirable? Why are the lunch and dinner not? Your thoughts will certainly help my plans.
Thanks.

Hello Captain ;)

First of all, congratulations on getting the much-coveted reservation! We spent $12 in long distance phone calls trying for them and lost

We got in a few years ago and we loved it.

Lunch and dinner are less desirable because the characters are not there.

The cost is not much more than most other meals at WDW (and even less than some). The food is pretty OK as I remember it and it is all-you-can-eat table service (other character breakfasts are buffet). They treat you as if you are royalty visiting the castle.

Have fun- you'll love it

Hi there, As previously mentioned by Erika, getting these ressies is tough, REALLY tough. That should be an indication of how desirable this breakfast is!!! The Princeses are truly amazing to see up close and personal. I love it and I am an adult. Two of my friends went and they had trouble getting their two daughters to eat they were so blown away with the atmosphere and the Princesses. Another friend couldnt get his daughter to calm down after Snow White came over and hugged her!!! Magical stuff Id say!!! as far as the food I thought it was certainly more than adequate for the adults. It is all you can eat, so be sure to ask for seconds of anything you liked and want more of. Check out the "French Toast". It is made from a Cheese Danish as it's base ingredient!! pretty unique in my experience. I have gone 2-3 times and would go again given the option. Hope this helps!! You basicly wn the lottery! so enjoy! It's more that just Mouse pancakes. and all about the magic of the castle. And as others have said, lunch and dinner is great there but NO characters!

Mmmmmm..... that sounds completely awesome!

We've got an 8:05am seating for our LAST DAY ... I about burst into tears when I actually snagged the breakfast. Only 9 days, 19 hours and 19 minutes to go!

Oh trust me it is!!! Not exceptionally great on the cholesterol side of things, but it is amazingly yummy. It is rolled in a batter, deep fried, and served with apples which have been cooked in a pan with cinnamon and sugar to make for soft but not mushy apples. Kinda like pie filling but much better!!! It is a truly amazing place. It was my reservation of choice for my birthday this past May and I Am 37 years old!!! Then again I have a real thing for the Princesses. Could you tell?? Belle
P.S. Make sure you bring a camera for lots of pictures!!!

Isn't that funny? It'll be my birthday too ... and I'm getting so old I just had to use my calculator to figure out I'm going to be 33. :hammer:

Dammit Jim! (excuse my vague Captain Kirk reference)...

It's a vacation not a morning at Denny's!

Seriously, we also went through the toil and trouble of doing this breakfast. And ressies for us involved getting up at an unGodly early hour--I think it was 4:00amish (we're on Pacific Coast time), and only one out of three callers actually got a reservation--granted this was for a visit that was 10 days after Easter and not off season like you guys are going (meaning it might have been a bit easier for you to get the ressie).

We did the Princess Breakfast on our very last day at WDW and it was truly the biggest highlight of the trip. B.T.W.--this is a DAD talking.

You didn't say if you have kids in your party, but having some sitting with you does add to the fun, mainly because they seem to get so totally blown away. All the Princesses are in character and they spend a decent amount of time at your table. We took 5 hours of video at WDW and the 1/2 hour devoted to this breakfast remains as the top lasting memory--its the part the kids still want to see over and over again.

Now aside from the food, which was good but a little expensive, you get seated in a wonderful room with a wait staff that is also in character. I hope you guys get the server who pours coffee from way up high--his non-spill technique is worth videotaping.

My only hope is that we're not hyping the experience so much that you guys go in and go "eeeh, what's the big deal?" But I do know that I'd definately make the same effort to do a return trip to this breakfast. Our party of 10 all felt that we really kickstarted our MK day (and last day at WDW) with a fun, special, and memorable event.

Oh, and I'll leave you with this thought--ever go to a kids birthday party with any kind of princess character on the scene? Trust me, at $20.00 per adult head (and I think about $10.00 per kid head) this meal is a bargain, and the entertainment is far superior to most Birthday party princesses.

Wow, I'd heard that the Castle brekky was good, but I didn't realise it was THAT good. Planning on reservations for the new Crystal Palace - just might change those plans now. Thanks.

I've heard a lot about the breakfast and I'm definitely going to be on the phone at 11:58 (that's BST before I'm told I'll be 5 hours too late). The only saving grace when it comes to living in the UK where WDW is concerned, is not having to get up while it's still dark to make the reservation. My two daughters will be 5 and 3 respectively when we are at WDW next June and my older daughter's bedroom is all Disney Princesses. she would not eat anything if we actually got a booking, but just this once I don't think I'd care at all.

I'm amazed that anyone gets the priority seatings. I called everyday for 2 weeks to no avail. I even posted on this site for suggestions on how to get through. Congratulations for getting it. Maybe one day we'll make it.

Hey Captain Hook,

We liked Crystal Palace for lunch. Price was decent (not sure if they're upping the cost upon reopening). It was something like $16.00 for grown ups and $10 for kids, but the food selection/variety was amazing! And if you eat here for a late lunch, say the 2:00pm hour, you can fill up enough to only need ice cream and/or popcorn for the rest of the day...unless, of course, you're travelling with teenagers. But that's an entirely different digestive situation all together...

Price-wise, if I'm not mistaken, both Character Breakfasts run at similar prices w/ Cindy's being a tad more pricey.

And Nansafan, I'm surprised that you had so much trouble getting ressies. I thought the "Credit Card hold" helped solved things. Then again, you might be going at peak season which changes all the rules. Have you thought about the Epcot Princess Breakfast? It's getting decent reviews and sometimes offers Mulan into the princess mix.

Peak season or not, it is always hard to get ressies. Our trip was in October (4 weeks ago) and we still could not get them! Better luck next time *crossing fingers*

Very Grateful

Thank you all so much for the replies. I will treasure this opportunity. As you may observe, I have great passion for space exploration. There is a shuttle launch scheduled that day. I plan to be there. My CRT was a back up plan in case of launch delay. I am ever so more intriqued. Will it be Tang or French Toast ala Glass Slipper.:hammer: :king:

Hey Spinsurgeon..here is an idea for your little girls..(and anyone else who is doing the Castle B'fast with little girls)..let them dress as their favorite Princess for the breakfast and bring along a change of clothes...then after the meal stash the Princess gear in a locker. We did this with our girls in May and it was well worth the extra effort. Although our b'fast was for before the park opened but all of the CM's oohed and aahed over them so much that they felt like they were real Disney Princesses! PLUS the photo of the girls in front of the castle dressed as their favorites is my favorite photo!

Also we were at Disney for 10 days and we didnt get through until our last day and we had several phones going. BUT we did finally get through and our whole party got in (group of 8) even the boys (12 & 14 really enjoyed it!).

Our girls had to bring home their special "Mickey Confetti" in an empty film canister. So that was another little perk for them as well.

Hi there Holly, Definitely let them know it is your birthday!! They make a bit of a mess out of your table with confetti and such but I enjoyed it. Also stop in City Hall on your way though and ask for a birthday button and wear it all day, Fun surprises kept happeneing to me and my friend Gloria all throught out respective days!! Spin I am SSSOOOOO Happy for you!!! your little girls will be over the moon!!! trust me on this one!!! bring a lot of film (video and still) and autograph books/animals/whatevers are also very good ideas. Plus the Princess bunch doesnt tend to frighten kids as much as the "head" characters such as Mickey, Pooh etc do. Have a great time and I expect to hear a glowing review when you guys get back!!! Belle

This is definitely one of my pet peeves about Disney World. I have been there 12 times so far and I have NEVER been able to get reservations for breakfast at the Castle. I try all the time. I'm on the phone at 7:00 am speed dialing and every time I get through, there are no more tables. How can it be sold out by two minutes after the hour? I think there is some fix because I wake up just to get to the phone at least 10 minutes prior. I use speed dialing and can never get a reservation? There is something very fishy to me about it.

Dwarful - That's a great idea. The girls would love to actually "be" Princesses when in the Castle. :king:
wannabeBelle - We'll have the video and stills cameras going non-stop. I suppose I'll come out feeling hungry, having had no time to eat.

We were trying to get a time for 8 people. Called each corresponding day to our trip of June 23-July 2. Was on hold varying times from 12 minutes to 2 minutes. Never even got close. Each time as soon as I said breakfast/castle, I was told sorry sold out. This was pre-credit card hold. That started shortly after we returned.
