Hi, my first post. Longtime reader, first time poster!

I just read on WDWinfo.com that there is going to be a change in Cinderella's breakfast reservation policy. They are now going to require credit cards to book a reservation. Apparently they are trying to stop the groups that make mass reservations, and give them away as they see fit.

Don't know if this is confirmed, just thought it was very interesting!

Here's the page :

hi

Hello DisneyFalcon i am glad that you have decided to post in the forums. That article is very interesting. It will hopefully prevent the resale of PS by large profit making groups.

*only 49 days to go*

This is so overdue..I'm glad Disney is finally doing something to hopefully control it a lot better. It made me so angry when I saw a PS auctioned on e-bay.

HERE'S STORY FROM THE LINK

**News Flash**
Cinderella Royal Table Character Breakfast

Hot off the press! We have learned that Cinderella's Royal Table Character Breakfast will start requiring a credit card at time of booking as of June 9th. They will require that the lead name not be changed and that a deposit of $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child will be charged at time of booking. All reservation must have the credit card to make the reservation and no names may be transferred to the reservation once it is booked. The cancellation policy is that you may cancel 24 hrs before your Priority Seating without losing your deposit paid and your credit card will be credited the deposit. To cancel you must call 407-WDW-DINE. This policy has been instituted because of newspaper articles that circulated about a month ago regarding a group of people flooding the phone lines trying to get reservations for others. Disney did not like the article and has now instituted this new procedure to try and level out the playing field for all guests.

This is probably the best solution for the problem. It will be interesting to see how much this helps (hopefully it will solve the problem).

More websites confirming

More websites are reporting this change. At mouseplanet.com, Brian Bennett is also confirming this. Here's mouseplanet.com's report:

A major change will be made to the priority seating policy for the character breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. As of June 9, 2002, a credit card deposit (the card will actually be charged) of $10.00 / adult and $5.00 / child will be required at the time that the priority seating is made. After the priority seating is booked, no changes can be made to the name on the booking. If necessary, priority seatings may be cancelled without penalty (i.e. the deposit will be refunded) if the cancellation is done at least twenty-four hours before the priority seating time.

I have never had a problem making any dining reservatiosn there for breakfast lunch or dinner, but that's probably because I am on the phone at 12:01 in the morning to make my dining reservations... hehe

I heard that this was a HUGE problem. When I worked in Chicago at the Disney Store, there were a ton of guests that would complain to me that they could not dine where they wanted to, especially at the in-park breakfasts. When I was there, on a whim, I walked to the castle one morning and I was told that there had been a rash of cancellations and that I could even have a window table for breakfast... That was just in October. My thoughts were how are so many people complaining? Well, went upstairs, at 9:15am, and the place was only about a 1/3 filled.

I hope this helps make more guests happy.

yes it is true but I can not recall when this new policy for booking will come into effect - saw an article in the Orlando paper on the weekend with confirmation from WDW

Give it some time.

Howie and his angels at DisneyNation most likely have the next sixty days all ready booked. Once the new policy starts it may take awhile before the current bookings are used up. We'll just have to wait and see.

Talsonic, who are the, and forgiv me if it makes me seem novice, the angels at DisneyNation? And also, are you by any chance from the Chicago area?

I visited Chicago once.

Hi kaos. There is an Internet site called DisneyNation Clubhouse that is devoted to Disney travel. One of their many different forums is devoted to the Breakfast Club. Reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table character breakfast have traditionally been difficult to secure. The idea is you post on the forum the time and number of people in your party and Howie and his angels flood Disney reservations with phone calls on your behalf to get the reservation. In recent years Howie has become the center of some criticism for providing this "service" because some people (travel agents in particular) have complained that he "hordes" reservations thereby making it more difficult for the average family to get a reservation. He defends the practice saying that his group only accounts for about 4% of the total reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table. Whatever the truth of the matter is, Disney has decided to change the rules for making reservations. Under the new system reservations must be secured with a credit card and are nontransferable. In theory, this will make it easier for individuals to get reservations. However it will also help out travel agents. As I said before we'll just have to wait and see.

Pardon my ignorance, but I've only been to breakfast there once, and that was many, many years ago. How many does the restaurant seat?

Not enough space.

Hello The Mom (or may I call you Mom?)! Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast area has 185 seats. However, as you know Disney is very good at "moving people along" so they normally have 4 seatings per breakfast. Therefore they normally accommodate 740 people each breakfast. Unfortunately this event is so popular that many hundreds are turned away most every day. It's one of the most difficult reservations to make. I hope things improve with the new system. The only downside I see is that some people don't have credit cards.
