This is a bit of a drift...but if you like this movie, you should also see "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" which is based on a story by the same author (Jean Shephard) and shows a somewhat older Ralphie.

I also LOVE this movie, because it is so reminiscent of my own childhood...I have old pictures of my brothers (older than I ) wearing the same sort of outfits, (and myself in a snowsuit) and I remember listening to the radio in pre-TV days (or when they were still VERY expensive) Imagine only having 3 TV channels, plus public TV...which had all educational programming back then. (We used to watch the French program when I was in elementary school)

Anyway, check out the other movie!
