With October coming to a close in a few days, Halloween will soon be over, and the Christmas takeover will begin within the next week or two. This will be a dedicated thread for all of the goings on around WDW relating to the holiday season. Decoration updates / photos, news, phase closings, etc. Yes, I do realize that Halloween isn't even over yet, but with all of the tension on the boards lately, as well as the stressful election, I felt as though this thread would bring a lot of cheer to people.

Here are some links to other threads discussing specific events that have to do with Christmas:

So anyways, when should we expect to start seeing the Halloween decor being replaced with garland?

I've been twice at Christmas. It is insanely crowded but worth it!
We will be there 11/25-12/4.. So not Christmas week..but still excited to see all of the Christmas decorations and MVMCP etc!
We are avoiding the parks on 3 of the days with high crowd predictions..2 of them are our first 2 days there.lol. But we have water sports, a pirate adventure cruise, and a few meals planned..so I'm sure we'll be ok missing those park days. :)

I will be there on Tuesday Nov 1st. Does anyone think the Halloween decorations will still be up or partially up? I know stuff seems to happen overnight sometimes. I'm brining some newbies to WDW and it would be cool for them to see both the Halloween and Christmas decorations at MK.

90% of MK's Holiday decor will be up by November 1st.

No

I would say the first is a stretch, holloween will be gone by the first but Christmas will be done by the second. I belive that is how it was last year. Christmas will invade all the parks by the second or 3 week of Nov. last year we arrive on the 9th AK HD no decorations when we went later in the week it was all decked out. Epcot did not have any decorationsuggestions when we left on the 15th. MK was decorated the whole time, and I belive HS was also decorated most of the time but we only went once late in the week

I would say the first is a stretch,

No, it (the Magic Kingdom) will be 90% done by Nov 1. On the last night of the Halloween party, crews work overnight taking the Halloween decorations down and putting up the Christmas decorations in their place. It then takes an extra day for all the landscaping to be done.

Last year the last Halloween Party was Nov 1, and on Nov 2, all the Xmas decs were up.

But you're right that the other parks and resorts take more time. But they're all committed to be done before Thanksgiving.

Santa M&G at Disney Springs and the other holiday stuff starts on Nov 11, so, I'm guessing that's the deadline for decorations there.

Santa M&G at HS starts Nov 14, so, that's probably their decoration deadline.

Epcot's holiday stuff (stories, seasonal foods, Candlelight Procession) doesn't begin until Nov 25.
