Christmas at Resorts

I know they have different things going on at the resorts like the ginger bread house, but as I have never been during Christmas before can you help me
with some of the things that go on. We will be at the World Dec.16-22 and staying at ASMo but might want to do a little exploring

They have Mickeys very merry christmas parade at the Magic Kingdom. You have to buy tickets that are about $40 a person and $33 for young children. It snows on Main Street and you get free hot cocoa and cookies. They have an awsome parade too. They kick everyone out of the park who does not wear a wrist band for the event. Also, every park has huge Christmas trees set up at every entrance. I think they have them at the resorts too....its sooo nice.

Besides Mickey's Christmas party, a lot of the hotels have certain signature decorations. I know that the beach club normally has a carousal and that some of the other deluxe resorts have their own special decorations

Wilderness Lodge, GFloridian, and Boardwalk are worth your time. I imagine AKLodge is also well-done, but I haven't seen it at Christmastime. We'll be there then, too. Enjoy!:xmas:

There's a bar at Port Orleans Riverside that has a great comedy/piano routine. He does a 12 Days of Christmas that will have you rolling on the floor! Not sure what it's called- but he's right next to the store/lobby.

I just love seeing all the themed Christmas trees in all the resorts. AKL's tree is unique! I love it. (Some might say it's not as festive- but it's themed...)
At the GF you might be able to catch the pianist doing seasonal music/or the bands that play in the lobby and the full-size gingerbread store that they sell gingerbread house replicas at. The gingerbread carousel at BC is awesome! Again- look for hidden mickeys!

In the parks you'll find the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights at MGM. Don't forget to look for the Hidden Mickeys! Also the EPCOT Candlelight Processional is a "don't miss it" event.

Have fun! Don't forget to keep an ear out for the themed holiday music as well. It's all a part of creating that festive mood!

That seems cool. We will be staying there for the first time in november, when the christmas festivities begin.

I must say though...The christmas decor at WDW is amazing! Pop Century was really cute last year. We stayed in the 50's building, and they had the christmas oldies music playing 24 hours a day...it was really cute. The tree was very nice. The parks decor and deluxe resorts decor was just outstanding. Disney really does a great job during the christmas season. And I love going to that christmas shop in DTD...its so cozy!!! :xmas:

Christmas at Disney is AMAZING! This will be our 3rd trip.

If nothing else, hop the monorail from the MK, and at least visit the 3 resorts on the loop. To me, the monorail is just like another attraction!!

BTW- the guy at the POR bar is there all year round- he just does a different hysterical routine. Fair warning -he's into audience participation- picture 10 Lords a leapin'.....Need I say more?

The Santas around the world at Epcot is pretty cool. Very interesting to learn about other country's Christmas celebrations. There's also the reading of The Christmas Story and the choir.:xmas:

I love WDW during the holidays and go every year. I always make sure I go out of my way to GF: the gingerbread house is great, there's usually a bell choir and a great pianist. Also, if you have a car you might want to drive to Celebration, which is nearby. They have a lot of festivities, including nightly snowfalls and a Christmas train.

Go to FW and stroll around. Everyone decorates :xmas: their site or cabin for the Holiday :xmas: . There are "best decorating" contests, like "best Disney theme" etc...it is just perfect! Some sites are better decorated than the homes in my area, it is a blast to drive around in our golf cart and "site" see.
