Just saying if we were to go...

Which one would you choose and why or why not?

4 or 5 adults would be going.

We've stayed at Yacht/Beach a few times so we do know the appeal of the Epcot area.

Okay go!

With 4 or 5 adults, a Crescent Lake hotel is the obvious choice - walking distance to arguably the two most "adult" WDW theme parks. Boardwalk Inn in particular puts you between Epcot and DHS. Plus the Boardwalk itself has come back to life, with it always hopping at night. The Boardwalk is a mini Disney Springs.

Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) is arguably WDW best stand-alone hotel. The best lobby, two really good restaurants, an excellent pool, a good food court, a good store, and giraffes! If I was just staying at a hotel, I'd probably pick Jambo House over any other WDW hotel.

However, since you are 4 or 5 adults who presumably will be spending time at theme parks, the Boardwalk Inn is the way to go.

Dont forget about the Swan and Dolphin. You get the bonuses staying there too of the Deluxe Resorts. Dont know about AKL but I think the Wilderness Lodge is pretty awesome too at Christmas. But its all buses which is its biggest negative.

Yes. This would be our 5th stay in the Epcot resort area if we were to go there in 2024.

I know logistically Boardwalk is more practical. But man, AKL is really, really pulling me in. It's so amazing looking. Like a real resort. We can always just Uber everywhere!

Oh well, I don't even know if we are going anyways!

AKL looks better and has better dining at the resort, by there's still plenty of dining at Boardwalk considering EPCOT and Swolphin. I'd personally do Boardwalk and then visit AKL for dinner at Jiko or Boma or lunch at Sanaa. I really enjoy Festival of the Holidays and presume Jollywood Nights will exist in 2024. That said, if you're okay ubering everywhere then location doesn't really matter.

That’s a hard one.

Haven’t stayed at the Boardwalk resort but I have stayed at the Beach Club so I get the love for the location.
But I love AKL and I would vote for there, especially at Christmas. Victoria Falls lounge is great, you have 2 great restaurants plus Sanaa over at Kidani, where you have another great pool. It’s an easy, though not picturesque, 10 minute walk over or there’s a shuttle bus. The artwork and the CMs there are fantastic, well worth checking out their talks about their own country and they’ll answer any questions about the animals.

My only “but” is when exactly are you going? If it is over New Year then getting an Uber is going to be tough.

Otherwise it’s another vote for AKL.

If we join others, it would be early December 2024.

We did Uber from AKL on our last trip because the buses were either extremely slow or when they arrived they were full up and the driver stopped long enough to tell us another bus was on its way. Uber turned out to be better and wasnt overly expensive. If it wasnt for Uber we would have missed out on a badly wanted dining reservation.

I'm not really that worried about the bus situation. We've had bad issues with the bus at Beach Club before, so it happens everywhere. Valid concern though, thanks!

We did it. We bit the bullet and booked Animal Kingdom Lodge for early December 2024. Our first Holiday Season visit!!!
We figure it's just a $200 deposit, we can always cancel.

Ultimately we were just at Beach Club and if we are going back this soon (1.5 years later) we need it to feel different. And AKL will definitely feel different!

The Boardwalk is beautiful at Christmas. You may get a better holiday deal at Dolphin or Swan; it all depends if you want o stay on the actual boardwalk or not. You can't go wrong with AKL, though.
