The only thing I can add is with lots of people of Disney removing alot of the "Disney" theming from the resorts, it makes Swolphin look more and more alike.

I've stayed at AKL three times, but never at Christmas time. I bet it will be beautiful. :)

I watched a video last night and the tree looks amazing! I'm very excited to stay here. Not for another 1.5 years, so things may change, but I hope we go! :)

As a resort personally I don't think AKL can be beaten when you combine all that it offers...

I know a lot of people get hung up about the location but with the exception of MK none of the parks are that far if you are taking the bus. Plus I always find the bus service their frequent and reliable.

Add in the decorations and music at Christmas and that's an extra bonus.

We did Uber from AKL on our last trip because the buses were either extremely slow or when they arrived they were full up and the driver stopped long enough to tell us another bus was on its way. Uber turned out to be better and wasnt overly expensive. If it wasnt for Uber we would have missed out on a badly wanted dining reservation.
Beat me to it. Jambo House is more than just a great hotel. It is a transformative experience. Just use Lyft - the buses suck.

I've been watching so many walking tour videos, we are so excited! :D

Both resorts have beautiful holiday decorations and I have stayed at each numerous times but I think I would suggest Boardwalk out of the 2 since you are closer to the parks

Thanks!

It's definitely a touch choice, but we decided on AKL since it will be so new for us. And at Christmas, I think it will have a great feel. And I love being so close to AK, our favorite park. I know it's still a bus, but I'm excited to go there more often.

But we will try Boardwalk at some point! :)

You will not be disappointed in the Christmas decorations! This picture is from last year, I think WL is the only resort we’ve stayed at with better Christmas decor. 🎄

We've really enjoyed staying at the Beach Club and the AKL. We like Beach Club because of the proximity to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. At AKL, the staff is so wonderful and friendly there Especially talking about the wildlife. I would actually choose another option. The Wilderness Lodge is so wonderful at Christmas with all of the wonderful decorations. And, also, the roaring fire in the large fireplace. So very festive!!!

Wilderness lodge, AK and the grand californian are the best of Disney imo

I think AKL was the right choice. I stayed at AKL in early January of 2020, while the tree was still up. It made me so ridiculously happy every time I walked from our room the lobby. In a similar vein, we stayed at WL back in Dec. 2010 and I insisted on a room overlooking the lobby. While it wasn't the best choice for that trip (two little kids who really needed something more spacious and closer to MK), I loved opening my door to that tree. We stayed at YC back in Nov 2012 and were there during the holiday transformation. On one hand, it was neat to go to bed on the 16th with everything normal and wake up on the 17th to everything in full blown holiday mode. On the other hand, it just doesn't have the wow factor of WL's, AKL's, and GF's decorations/trees.
