Chip & Dale's Imagineering Rangers - Project 3

Honestly, when I read this new project, I immediately thought of Country Bears. A seasonal show is exactly what CBJ needs to draw in crowds. So a new show could be created with country versions of Halloween songs (I know Ghost Riders in the Sky would be a good choice) and new dialogue.

Also, Pirates of the Scareibbean comes to mind.

Wait, is the idea currently being tossed around a nighttime version of The Liberty Belle? If it is.... maybe we could do a Haunted Mansion tie in? And I like the ideas that you guys have now also.

Maybe we could even go as far as to bring back the AE Alien for a nighttime version of Stitch....

Or a Monster's Inc Halloween Party....

The possibilities here are endless.

Another good one we could do is Fantasyland has been overcome by villains, and each attraction would be focused on it's own villain (So like a pink elephant Dumbo, Queen of Heart's Teacups, Lady Tremaine's Carousel, Captain Hook's Pirate Ships, Heffalumps and Woozles, the Evil Queen's Mine Cars, Dark PhilharMAgic)

But that's like 10 rides so that probably wouldn't work.

Do you realize that if MK had the Columbia I would be spewing Haunted Pirate SHip ideas like crazy.

Haunted Hall of Presidents seems far-fetched, but I could totally run with that idea.

WAIT what If we did a Haunted Railroad where the back areas are turned into "The Shadowlands" where the villains reside.

What about a new Main Street Vehicle "The Haunted Hearse?"

Halloween TTA could be fun in those tunnels.

So at this point, I've suggested a (somewhat) reasonable Halloween overlay for almost every MK attraction. I'm pulling another Africa Billboard Idea freakout session.

That train idea kinda reminds me of the Kingdom Keepers (book)... when they are trying to hide from Malificent. That Liberty Bell idea sounds great to me! I don't really do scary though, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be throughout this project as a guage of how scary things will be, because I'm practically scared of my own shadow. BUT I have Thursday and Friday off of school, so that kinda makes up for it.

The only problem I would have with doing the Liberty Belle would be that I'm not even sure if it runs at night.

And by the way, Kingdom Keepers is my favorite book.

I actually really, REALLY like the idea of the haunted Railroad. There's a lot of material back there to work with, and one of the problems with the railroad in general is that there's not really a lot to see in the back areas. So let's see, off the top of my head the "dead" spots, or just spots where we could possibly put show scenes, would be.

-Basically the entire stretch of track between Main Street and NOS.
-Stretch of track from the point of going over the Critter Country bridge to MTT station.
-The Tomorrowland backwoods.
-Obviously, the dioramas.

I think it would be interesting to make use of lighting and sound effects. Have fake supernatural experiences. Maybe rig the lanterns on the train to shake, things of that nature.

Well, those are my two cents. Also, I have to say that I feel kind of left out of the loop after last project. I realize I might not post here EVERY day, but I'm checking every day. By the time I saw the project two thread, it was already three pages in. Exactly how much did you guys expect me to contribute when you basically already had everything established? I'm not trying to be mean, I just think in this certain situation, I felt I was almost eliminated after doing nothing wrong. A little more communication, and making sure EVERYONE has something to do, would do a lot for this team.

Well I'm not a fan of picking favorites, however, it is definitely up there with the best of them! There's a new one coming out soon- April 6! Disney in Shadow! YAY!

So if we're doing the Liberty Belle, put me down for the story. We kinda already have the basis of the story, but I'll elaborate on it and tie it in the TSI and Haunted Mansion.

:ROFLOL:

Dude you just described a layout for Disneyland.

But still, we can use them for MK.

Get excited. It's gonna be awesome.

Maybe we can even have the characters from the book in our attraction overlay, to tie in to the new book.

Well, my offer stands no matter what attraction we are doing. I'll check in later tonight to find out which we are doing, and see if I can get an assignment.

I don't want to start an argument, but I think it's fair to you and everyone to know where I was coming from.

If you were checking the thread every day you could have volunteered for any part of the project. I attempted to get people exact tasks and while it worked for some, other's ended up helping in all aspects. We didn't have much time and after round 1, we definitely wanted to have something to submit.

You also posted asking if there was anything you could do to help and I almost immediately responded that Mathew might need help with menus. We didn't hear from you after that.

Overall everyone contributed quite a bit. I wish you would have shared your concerns as the project was ongoing as we would have been sure to get you something to work on. From past projects it's clear you have a TON to contribute.

I actually did a "haunted train" trip in Santa Cruz a couple of years ago. The train there cuts through the mountains and follows the story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. They have a narrator and some decent special effects. It only runs during the night and the workers do a nice job of jumping out at you at the right times. If they can do a decent job and scare me a bit, I'm sure we can come up with a great overlay for the RR.

As much as I like the Liberty Belle idea, I think this one would work even better.

I agree (and that's not just because it was my idea.)

Also, I believe I can write one kickass backstory for a Haunted Railroad.

Can we have you scare yourself with your shadow and record it? We can submit that as the guest's reaction!! :)

Sorry, I wasn't aware this had to be WDW. Guess I need to read the project descriptions better. This is pretty irrelevant though, as I think it's pretty well known that the WDW Railroad is even MORE boring in the dead spots than the DLR Railroad. I'm just not familiar with the dead spots. Obviously now we don't have the diorama to play around with, which kind of sucks.

I don't know how "real scary" you guys want to get, but I'm pretty in tune with the supernatural myself. I live in Petaluma California, which is literally basically a breeding ground for spirits. Crazy things happen to me all the time. Google Haystack Landing, which is literally a football field away from my house, and read about all the messed up stuff that's gone down there. What I'm trying to say, is that if we want to delve into the idea of WDW actually being haunted, and not just you're being chased by Malificent or something, then I could contribute to the type of atmosphere that would be good to create. Generally in real hauntings or paranormal events, it will start off with a sound, then you go investigate that sound, and then...the haunted stuff basically happens. This is why I think we should make the experience a very auditory one. I hope I'm not just typing for no reason on this. I think it would be semi interesting to explore this concept.

Just assume that every project is WDW.

I've already got some really good ideas for this. It's gonna be cool.

This is the route I'd like to see us go. This will probably make more sense theme/story-wise.

If we go the train route, would we have an overlay during the day that is less scary or only utilize it at night?

Nighttime only. The darkness will be a HUGE part of my story.

Well as much as I think the Liberty Belle one would be quite unexpected, it would be easier to do the Haunted Railroad, I'm good whatever everyone else wants...
