*@!%^$(!%^@&(************!!!

Looks like everything from biology to the government has crap backed up for a year minimum...

Nah, I think this was more a "we need to perfect the report for the journal before it actually gets published" type thing. Science is just a long process intrinsically.

The government, however. No excuses.

...

You say dang too?!
Is dang a special word?
New species of shrew discovered... and it's more closely related to elephants than rodents!

I see the three dots.
See, it doesn't work.
Must have at least three characters to post...

 It's beautiful! I love systematics :sohappy:
But they have to change like... all of taxonomy, thanks to DNA testing.
I mean, come on, before now, Protsits was basically the category to shove anything you weren't sure about. :lookaroun

Of course they have to change it. But what in science isn't constantly changing. In fact, in science change is the BEST thing. It means your theries are becoming (hopefully) more accurate.

Let's take this elephant shrew for example. In the past they were lumped with hedgehogs and the like in insectivora, but now they have their own superorder. It's a good thing because it means we're getting closer to the right. Mistakes will be made, but we fix them when we see them. It's such a beautiful process.

(BTW, thanks Wikipedia)

George is watching an interesting show on the History Channel.
It's a look at what would happen to the world if all people were simply to simultaneously disappear.

I WANTED TO WATCH THAT. But one of the people who lives across the hall found it online and sent me the link. I haven't watched it yet.

Story time:

Yesterday at DL, my friends and I decided to go to Pirates Lair because Jack was out. I really wanted to take a picture with him. By the time we got there, Jack left, but the Bootstrappers were there singing. One of the pirates comes up to me and extends his hand out like he wants a handshake. While I was shaking his hand, he takes my purse from me.

Then he ends up giving it to Jack, who came back. Jack went through my purse, asking what some of the things were. Then he gave it to a little kid. I was laughing so hard!

Jack ended up on the same raft as us when we were coming back. He was asking everyone for island fees. No one was giving him anything, so I called him over. I told him I would give him a penny if he took a picture with me...it ended up working, kinda. :D

What the hell does that mean? :lookaroun
 Yes, you did. You are correct.
There is a time for eloquence and a time for a two sentence explanation. :lookaroun

I'm not sure if that would be good or bad...

Interesting, to say the least.
Fencing, at the least, would really take off in the national sports arena...
