considering the competition from HP.....that is some good results from CL.....esp being so close to #2...which was a new movie

The good thing is that in CL closed today, and made no more money.....it has covered its cost.....with the traditional films of the last 5 years....this would not be the case.

It was a bit better of a 3rd weekend take than I originally thought after seeing Friday's numbers. I was expecting 12-13million, not almost 15 million. A 53% fall is very admirable considering the competition from Harry Potter and its $100 million+ opening weekend. Most thought CL would have that type of percent fall in its second outing without any real competition. Another day or two and it'll cross the magical 100 million dollar mark before Thanksgiving weekend.

Went and saw a 10:00 am showing of HP today...stepped into a theater showing CL on the way out...it was just over half full...not too bad.

Although the big money is still obviously heading to Goblet of Fire, Chicken Little is holding its own so far through the Holiday weekend. Chicken Little is running 4th and figures to be in the 17 million range for the Holiday weekend. Potter is 1st, Walk the Line is 2nd and Yours, Mine and Ours is 3rd. Chicken Little is outdrawing opening films Rent and Just Friends. Still hoping that Chicken Little can sustain enough momentum to top Robots at 128M. I think that looks pretty good now.

Chicken Little made an estimated 12.4 million over the weekend, a mere 15.6% fall from last weekend. Over the five day holiday, Chicken Little made a total of 16.6 million. After this weekend, Chicken Little has now made an estimated total of 118 million.

Depending on how it continues to fare over December as it is slowly taken out of theaters as such big movies as Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong open, it may be possible for Chicken Little to get very close to Lilo and Stitch's 145 million, but I imagine it will stop in the mid to high 130's.

Chicken Little grossed $7.4 million from a modest amount of territories, upping its early total to $25 million. Disney's computer-animated feature was most impressive in Spain, yielding a $2.5 million opening. In the Netherlands, it bowed to $550,000 from 113 screens.

Among holdovers, Chicken Little seemed unaffected by Harry Potter in Mexico, grossing $1.2 million from 600 sites for a $9 million total through its third weekend. Meanwhile in Poland, where it posted the biggest opening ever for an animated feature, it fell barely at all, notching $1.8 million after two weeks.

I think its probably a given that it will top Robots as well. Chicken Little only needs another 10 million to surpass Robots after its performance this weekend. Two more weeks and it should be able to pass that point easily.

After a couple 300K days (in 7th place) for Chicken Little, I am starting to wonder whether it will catch Robots. Its going to start losing theatres soon. Hope it gets there. Really hope it beats Robots. I think Disney badly needs it to beat Robots.

The race to catch the domestic gross of Robots looks like its going to go down to the wire to me. Chicken Little is going to lose screens to Narnia big time.

Chicken Little will easily outpace Robots. Robots grossed $128,200,012 from 3/11 to 9/5. That's 6 months in the theaters.

Chicken Little has grossed $127,280,176 since 11/4. That's just over 1 month or 1/6 of the time Robots was in theaters.

Granted CL is going to slow way down but it has less than $1 million to come up with. I'm guessing the movie will make at least that this coming weekend and it will certainly be in theaters well into the new year.
