Chef Mickey's is it worth it?

I've done Hollywood and vine for dinner with the Fantasmic package. Should work for me for breakfast. Plus, being by myself and a quick eater, if I can get as early as you did I'll be in beat shape to hit the opening.

Assuming things are like they were when we visited, you should have no problem getting out in time. Our girls were 2 & 4 when we did this one, we visited with every character twice, the girls got up to dance twice, I think we worked in 2 trips to the buffet + we stopped for stickers on the way out...and still made it out with time to spare before 9a. In fact, we even had a slight delay b/c I had to talk to the chef about food allergies...and still out of there before 9.

Although I probably wouldn't find myself ever staying at the Contemporary, I love my visits there. The resort is so "Disney", the restaurant offers good fun, top characters and who doesn't love riding the monorail?

It depends I don't think buffets are worth the money if you are not on the dinning plan. I have to young kids and they will not eat 15 dollars worth of food. If I pay for the dining plan I eat there all the time it is a great restaurant but 110 dollars for breakfast with my kids that don't eat enough it is not worth it in my opinion. I love it there though

We really enjoyed Chef Mickey's and would recommend it highly. In terms of the food, to us a breakfast buffet is the same all over the world (unless the theme is different) If you get there early enough, it is a good environment to meet "main" characters. Also, as was said before.....you will be full enough to possible by pass lunch or just need a snack

At this point my response for chef Mickey is this. If you have never been and you really want to eat with Mickey and the gang, by all means have at it. I personally think that over the last few years its gone way downhill. The focus no longer seems to be on the experience but more on milking the fact that people want to eat with Mickey. The food has regressed and the whole experience feels very rushed. There are a ton of places that are more worthy of my money, but maybe that's just me.

Hi All!

I was all set and ready to head to chef mickey's for breakfast for my kids, but then I had heard
IT was the most expensive disney buffet, and the food isnt even that good.

We have done both breakfast and dinner but that was more then 3 years ago, has the quality of food gone down? Is it really worth it or would I be better off making a ressie at the Crystal palace or Donald Safari breakfast at Animal Kindgom park.

Thanks for all info! :)

Well, we go there every visit if we can get a reservation. Honesty, the food is no better than Denny's. The whole point of Chef Mickey's is just that. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale. Nowhere else can you get that combination of classic characters and an atmosphere kids love. Do it for the experience, not the food.

We ate there and loved it. We found it to be better than CP. I have a very picky eater and this was his favorite meal. We had the dining plan so we were not worried about the cost. However, I do agree it is worth the money to take pictures with all Disney's main characters. I got some of the best pictures there. My kids also really enjoyed watching the monorail. :)

Honestly the food is NOT good! But my parents took me there when I was a kid to enjoy and have the characters come table by table which I did enjoy :) Kids loveeee it cause they get to see Mickey!

I totally recommend going to Chef Mickey's. I go there for breakfast on most of my trips there, and I love that the characters come to you. I also like how Goofy looks in a chef's costume ;)

We did not at all enjoy the food at Chef Mickey's, reminded us of a terribly cheap buffet like Shoney's. I don't know how early Ohana serves but we leave there stuffed everytime!
