Hi all

So with the news of Crystal Palace possibly being closed during our trip, we have to find a new place to have a character breakfast.

What are your opinions on Chef Mickey's character breakfast?
How is the food selection?
Do all the characters come around to your table in a timely manner?

Any other character breakfast suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Fun.
You get Mickey and the main characters.
They come around a lot. Easy to see in the seating area.
Good food. Big selection. You won't leave hungry.
Noisy.
But fun.

We have had breakfast there twice. The food was good, they don't have steam tables, instead the counters where the food is placed are heated.

As stated the main charaters Donald, Chip & Dale, Minnie, Goofy Pluto, and Mickey dressed as a chef come around very often. Also as stated, as it is held on the Grand Canyon Concourse it does get noisy.

They will have you pose for pictures like Ohanna and sell you the package. The last we ate there in 2007 the photographer had major attitude the picture was horrible so we didn't purchase them.

We just ate breakfast at CM and enjoyed it. Had an early (7:45am) resv and was seated almost immediatly. We always bypass the photographer and just have pix at the table with our camera. Usually a CM around to snap for you. We also ate @ Tusker House this trip and liked it quite a bit. You can make your adr for before DAK opens and have the place to yourself on the way, a great photo op.

Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast is REALLY REALLY loud!
When we go to Chef Mickey's (which is so much harder to get into than it used to be) we go late so all the crowds are clearing out. We have a 9:05 reservation for November 25th.

Thank God we got in. I remember about 3 years ago you could call before you left and we'd get a 7:00 pm reservation. Those were the good ol days. lol

I love Chef Mickeys atmosphere so much.

Back in Dec 1993, when Chef Mickey's actually opened at the Contemporary, it was my birthday. We met a waitress there who still works there. We brings her gifts all the time and always request her to have as our server. Her name is Chris. She brings me/and my family a cupcake and brings the characters over each year on our birthday. She has become a family friend. We actually invited her to stop by our BLT villa so she can see it after dinner on the 25th. She adores each member of my family and we love and adore her. So ever since then, we go each Thanksgiving time/December. We try to go also on all of our other trips, but we make sure we have a reservation for that specific time of year.

But As far as food, it's a little tiring after going almost 4 times per year.

Cape May Cafe is my favorite buffet foodwise. Breakfast and dinner. Their breakfast has characters as well without the Chef Mickey's $$$

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Yes, now that I read your opinions, I do remember hearing that it is noisy which isn't a major concern of ours, unless 2 year olds are screaming into my ear  I'm assuming the noise level is due to the large amount of children excited by Mickey at 8am.

Plus we're staying at the Poly so Chef Mickey's location makes it easy for us to get to and head to the park after.

I think we may try this though...thanks guys.

We've been the last 3 years, always for a birthday. It's good but not as good as it used to be due to the decline of some of the food and things that they do for birthdays. It's loud, but no more so than Crystal Palace. The quality of the food has declined a little recently but not to the point where the food is bad. It's still a good character breakfast, just not as good as CP, IMO.

I loved the breakfast lassagna at CM's. My hubby did not like the eggs, there was water at the bottom of the pan and he wouldn't eat them but he thought the rest of the food was good.

Hello my friend!!!

We loved Chef Mickey! Food was good and there were a crazy load of options! The characters made it around fast too. We also like 1900 Park Fare! :slurp:
