Charging my iPod?

I know the only way that we can charge our iPod's to plug the cable into a PC/laptop and let it do its thing.

As we do not have a laptop and do not intend on taking the PC all the way over to the States is there anywhere else we can plug a USB cable in throughout the resort. We are staying at All Star Sports and was wondering if there is a drop off point or something like that?

Much appreciated

While I sincerely doubt that there is a "dropoff" point like that anywhere in WDW, why don't you just buy an AC adaptor for your iPod? I have one that has a changeable plug (so that I can use it in both Europe and North America - bought it from Apple). If you ever need to reinstall your software, you're going to need to plug it into a non-computer power source anyway..

Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but, why would you wear an ipod when your in WDW? Don't you want to hear what's going on around you? For my personal choice, I don't want to miss a thing no matter what it is. But, to each their own. Enjoy your trip.:)

I agree that missing the ambience inside the parks is a shame, but I'm thinking in this instance it's more for the long long hours racked up to and from the UK - airports and planes can be a tad dull.

I just purchased a cheap wall adaptor to bring with us. And the newer iPods have picture holding capacties, meaning you can transfer digital images to them to clear your card. That's why I brought my iPod to the world. Plus, I used it on the plane ride there and back.

Well i can't swim so when i'm hanging round the pools at the hotel while my family and friend go in it means i can be there as well but without having to go in the pool.

Plus barnum's right regarding the journey, 9 hours is not the best and there's only so many times you can watch the movies over and over, lol.

Your iPod didn't come with a wall charger? Both of mine did. It plugs into the wall and you plug the USB or FireWire cord into it.

No it didn't. It just came with a basic USB cable for it to hook up to my PC, its looking like i am gonna have to get a wall charger. Can the UK one's be used in the States?

I don't have an I-pod so can't say, but check the voltage on the charger - see if it's dual voltage. If it lists 110v then you are OK - though it will need a plug adaptor to fit the American two prong socket.

This is true, I had not thought of that, but I still have to wonder, why have an ipod and have only one way to recharge it? I have an mp3 player, it doesn't hold as much as an ipod, and I don't have that much money for one either, even the nano,( which apple is in trouble with anyway), and there isn't that much music that I would like to listen too. I use mine for when I work out in the gym, keeps me at a pace that keeps the heart going and me from looking like I'm not 47, (insert vanity here):animwink:

That's so odd it didn't come with a a/c adapter. Is that a new thing? We have two 4th Generations and our boxes came packed with them - no problem. That's pretty cheesy if they stopped packaging them in the box.

You can find them online but also in almost any store like Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc.

Sounds like investing in one of these adaptors is a good idea. I recently got a Nano for Christmas and there was no adaptor of any kind. Sounds like the duty-free shops are a good idea, will have to check that one out.

All of the newer generations of Ipods do not come with a USB power adapter now a days. (Shuttle, Nano, Video ) It's now a quick way for apple to try to rack another $29 bucks on to the bill.
