Character Connection at Epcot

Hey,

I saw on another thread pictures showing the Character Connection was now running at Epcot (the replacement for the Characters on Holiday bus)... anyone that has been there... what characters do they have there? Is it as diverse as the old bus? One of the really neat things I loved about the bus was you could get some lesser known characters (IE not just Fab 5 + Chip/Dale)... I hope this is still the case.

BTW, I would have asked this question on the other thread... actually I think it actually was; however, that thread got derailed onto an off topic conversation and question like that were basically being ignored so I thought it best to ask in a new thread :)

Thank you :xmas:

The otherday i was in there it was just the fab five and it wasnt all that fab in there to me. Kind of sad. Thank goodness its only a test run. I wish the characters were still out in the countires since they are not going to run the bus...

Why did they stop the character bus? That was pretty neat...

I liked the bus greetings concept myself.....it was different and fun.

I can understand why they have done away with it though....i suppose you had to have some very experienced characters on there to be able to handle the steps ( to get up and down the top deck of the bus, etc.).

Maybe it's just they are eager to try something else now? The bus has been running for a few years now. Guests always want to see something 'new"! :animwink:

the bus is still being used as part of Mickey's Tree Lighting Treat
Ah, now it makes sense..... I thought it was very odd that they had decked the bus out in holiday decorations just days before discontinuing its use. Thanks for the heads-up, speck.

Was there on the 25th and indeed it is the Fab 5 plus Chip & Dale. It it pretty plain in there, it looks like a closed down counter restaurant with characters in there hanging out.

Hrmmm... well... that is crappy... like I said... one thing I really liked about the bus was the diversity of characters... there are tons of places you can always find the main characters (and they were on the bus so it wasn't like you couldn't find them in Epcot); however, it was one place you could always find a few rarer characters.

I will be going down there next week... I have a feeling I will be giving Disney some very negative feedback about the bus replacement :P

Character connection is just a test.....feedback is what they want.

My guess would be they got rid of the bus because it wasn't around enough for meet-n-greets. I can bet people complained that there wasn't enough characters. I had guests always asking me at the Seas where characters were.

The bus did have a nice assortment of characters indeed. I especially enjoyed it during the rope drop in the morning.

Does anyone know if they still use the bus for rope drop or are there just no more characters at the drop?
