I thought between 2010 and 2019 the parks actually improved. 🤷‍♂️
The parks had capex allocated to them, reluctantly Domestically anyway. The problem was that operating budgets were constantly trimmed to the bone and cuts were constant. None of that is going to change.

I assume it would never happen, but I wish they would go back to the original way the company was run, one genius creative and one financial genius working together to make the best product and keep the company going and growing. I’m pessimistic any one single person exists who knows the company from a business and personal level who could juggle both sides on their own. If there are or were within the company, they were likely pushed out or held down/back from advancement because that’s ‘not the way it’s done’ anymore.
Sorry, we’re fresh out of creative AND financial geniuses. We do have an evil (PR) genius in our circles, but no one has heard from her in a while…

We certainly haven’t seen him do much beyond that. But I think the Board is going to be lookin in his direction.
I think D'Amaro has potential, but he has moved up through the ranks way too quickly. He needs to stay where he is for an extended period of time before the board considers him moving up again.

So… Magic Express, Free Magic Bands, Free Meals Plans, and daily house keeping is a nice start.

So was Feige threatening to walk or something? Because while I won’t shed a tear about Chappie getting the boot, a Sunday night special like this from the Board either shows the BOD’s hands were forced or they look really, really dumb giving Chappie that extension and giving a glowing endorsement on his leadership.

Last quarter it was a $1.5 billion problem. That’s what got Chapek fired. Everything else was ancillary. Disney Streaming has operated at a lost since it was consolidated all together.
That was the plan. All of the streaming services start off at a loss with. Plan to be profitable withing 3-5 years.

There is going to be a lot of undoing what Chapek did before the end of the year to bring things back to 2019. Josh isn’t gone, but probably restructured.

I know this is a joke, but I can't help but consider that the palace intrigue and coup happening in the Bay area might have played a little role here too. Basically, global events are unstable. The election had effects. Everyone is expecting thing to get worse, and what is happening at the other place is a big flashing sign of what might befall the company in which the money / advertisers / partners lose / have no confidence in the CEO. Get this done while there are bigger distractions, and patch some holes in the mothership before the deluge that is going to hit everyone hits.
