Say Bob does go do you honestly think much is going to change? I don't. A lot of the changes were planned when Iger was still around. A new person in charge is not likely to change much.
I don’t expect change in a substantial matter right now. But I see Chapek as an imminent threat to pretty much every sector of the business…definitely parks.

So you cut the head off even if the snake still slithers and hope for better.

Public backing is a tactic to see how the market reacts. Typically you are more safe with “no comment” in practice

Yeah. Seriously. He's been in the role for two years now, he's built relationships and worked to understand the business. He has experience as CEO no one else has right now, for parks and the studio both. Who out there could say the same?

Probably also an aspect in the board supporting him: they can't find anyone else qualified for the position. It's most likely the reason he got the CEO spot in the first place.

Replacing him might mean having to endure another shaky transition period, and that might be less desirable to the board.

Hilarious that anyone thinking the board’s statement of support of Chappie today means anything tomorrow.

Just standard damage control.
Media press wants to think Chapek's ouster is imminent because it generates clicks. If anything the chances of him staying are higher.

The idea that Disney's stock price collapse has everything to do with Chapek and nothing to do with the overall state of traditional media is silly. Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount, and Netflix are all faring worse. Comcast is mostly immune solely because it's fundamentally a cable company and not a media conglomerate (even then, Brian wants to break the company up judging by recent rumors).

Investors do not care about what's going on in the boardroom. Only numbers.

I may think he doesn't know a damn thing about the parks or the studios other than how to extract maximum revenue from consumers and peddle cheap crap merchandise but... you aren't wrong. It would be a lengthy process to find someone who would replace him, and the BoD isn't going to do that right now.

As much as I don't like Strax Chapek, Iger played a part in Disney dismal performance too. Market and the parks.

It seems he’s micro-managed the parks a bit too much - something he doesn’t have experience in and something he doesn’t seem to want to learn about other than how it relates to “synergy” and “profit.” He’s using the parks short term revenue boost and the studios good name to boost up the Disney+ baby that is only going to grow up to be a teen who goes through a popular phase only to be rejected and living in The Mouse’s basement not paying any rent.
Other media companies have done worse. And it all points to the same problem: streaming will not replace linear TV or theatrical as a profitable venture.
Yup.
