Seeing as the petition by former imagineers circulating to fire Chapek openly states they believe Josh would make a better CEO, clearly he has the vote of many working in the company.

I firmly believe Josh is actually someone who gets it, but also has to navigate a corporate world and Chapek.
not to argue, but just curious what Damaro has done that makes you believe he "gets it"?...Because like the others, I think people give him a pass because he is young, enthusiastic and attractive...but I have not seen a track record of him doing wonderful things for the parks...

Because he shows up in the parks and laughs with people…which the Bobs wouldn’t be caught dead doing

but that proves nothing

he has neither advocated for increased pay and benefits for the employees or for spending resources for better stuff for the customers…and those are the only things that matter in his job

It's really not. D'Amaro's rise is on the same trajectory as Chapek's, and he's been a loyal lieutenant. You cannot find daylight between their leadership prerogatives. But people swoon at every appearance of D'Amaro, and perceived attractiveness (especially conventionally attractive people) have a clear advantage in life and business, which has been scientifically documented: https://www.businessinsider.com/bea...rkers-are-considered-more-able-by-employers-1
Attractiveness an advantage in life and business ? That's a laugh, you haven't seen the headshots of the successful billionaires ( Zuckerburg, Bezos, Musk etc ) running their companies.

Former Imagineers don't work for DW, anymore. ;)

This indeed and it’s a pattern we’ve seen before with Tom Staggs who is better looking than Jay Rasulo.
Then the new Presidents of DLR and WDW wouldn't be fitting into this attractiveness " pattern". This sizing up on peoples looks in their careers is amusing .

They’ve studied the hell out of it and it’s true. Not even questioned.

what those 3 you mentioned have in common is that their businesses were in new products/fields

nobody Downloaded Facebook because they thought zuckerberg was sexy…they just wanted to stalk who they went to high school with to see how sexy or unsexy they turned out.

That's because those people all started those companies; they didn't work their way up a corporate ladder.

It's been proven that attractiveness helps people move up inside corporate structures.

I have a relative who was always quick to smile and laugh and ask for a hug...but he's the same guy who tricked my father into signing the house over to him after his terminal brain cancer diagnosis and then tried to have us all thrown out on my 12th birthday.

In other words...being good at "schmoozing" doesn't mean a person isn't an absolute sleazebag.

Well I just signed the petition and gave $25 to get Chapek booted. It won't happen but it is nice seeing there are many that feel the same way. Will everyone take a moment and sign it? Just would love to see that number grow higher...

Lots of people saying that Josh has overseen some of these majorly flawed decisions and just as bad a Chapek. If your boss gives you a direct order, tells you to do something, and your in line to succeed them, don't you have to go along with it? Other choice is quit? Lots of puppets moved by strings, but Chapek is without a doubt the puppet master. He screwed up Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story, he ended Fastpass, he fired 28,000 employees, he is the most accountable.

15 million people could sign a petition like that and it wouldn't matter.

Disney would have to actually see a decrease in attendance, decline in revenue, etc. for it to make any difference in Chapek's employment as CEO.

And then you still have to worry about the BoD and likely the top few levels under Chapek.

Yep. Thanks. That is why I stated I know it won't happen. It's silly but nice to see all the signatures. Very aware how Corporate America works, but thanks for the lesson.

Which means he could literally drive it into the ground…and as long as the traders pump up the value to cash out…he’ll never be replaced.

this is EXACTLY what management in the past guarded against.

That is my feeling. If he did what folks here suggest, he’d be spending more time with his family right now. Gotta play the game.

So what is the money pot up to now and who's going to spend it? There is a saying a fool and his money is soon parted. 😉
