News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

Iger's ego is too large and he cannot fathom departing the organization while it's on such a downturn. There is still no successor picked, either internally or externally anyway. Unless the stock completely implodes to something down at the worst covid levels, the board will just sit tight and let him guide this ship into the iceberg. Did he ever even clear his crap out of the CEO suite the first time anyway?

He's probably not losing any sleep over it.
Probably not

…how about having to cut a deal with billionaires who don’t like him - with the support of huge institutional investors - to avoid a proxy fight…and not being able to deliver on the promises to stop it AT ALL?

think that stuck with Megamind?

We bury the Lead around here

was thinking the same thing.... iger wants to blame Chapek but wasnt he the one who hand picked him for every important role in the company?
He didn’t pick him…just let him hang around like a parasite

Iger is REQUIRED to have a succession plan. Period. Full stop.

But he refuses to because he has never had any interest in leaving. Pure ego.

He’s gonna wreck them. The management has been awful for years. There was just a lag/lead time on the results

The board has charged him specifically with helping transition the new CEO into the new role.

IIRC, the deal on the Peltz thing was 1) meaningfully working to find a successor and 2) dividends.

Where are we on those things?

I think December is the slated dividend far less than it previously was as well

I fully expect an anouncement maybe even D23 where they have extended Iger until all the legal issues with FLA and Desantis is settled, would be unfair to place a new person in under those issues - its all BS, but it gives them and him protection.

Then they don't have to admit they don't have a decent candidate to replace Iger

That’s all crap…

There is real danger of them being bought/broken up on the horizon if they don’t get rid of this two bit clown and his board.

But it will probably happen. The safeguards are long gone

OH its all crap, they have no succession plan, and lets face it the change in board leadership probably effected Iger's status as well.
Its time to clean house, at the house of mouse, and get some real talent in

One he had zero intention of ever doing and the other one the math doesn’t work on

I have a huge problem with Iger putting himself back on the board and no one talking about.

If he was a “transitional leader” then there is no need to be on the board.
And don’t be surprised if he appoints himself chairman either…that’s an old Trick from the 90’s

Hey…I said on day one of this manufactured “crisis” he came back under…that he had ZERO intention of leaving

There is no reason to think otherwise - frankly. Because all we have to do is watch and interpret the events. Not hard.

But I anxiously await being proven wrong about this. Dead wrong. Sign me up right now.
Yes, dear, we all know what you've been saying all along. When it is reported by a verifiable source, we'll be sure to give you a parade in your honor. 🤠

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but when the global pandemic popped up Iger retired to hide in his 100 acre bunker in the mountains. When the pandemic was obviously over he came out of hiding.

It may have had nothing to do with anything else.

72 according to google, and worth $350 million…

I can’t understand why he’s still working, I’d be traveling the world and enjoying my retirement years.

Willow has a 'Honey-Do' list for him a mile long and he keeps working to avoid it. Why do you think he came back? Apparently she's quite the taskmaster around the palatial estate.

I've been made privy to the new succession plan at TWDC!

  • Bob Iger serves as CEO until he dies
  • There is a gathering of the BoD
  • We wait to see white smoke coming out of Dopey's nose in Burbank and then they will announce who the new CEO is
Seems kind of familiar, but I can't put my finger on why...

Don't shoot the messenger. ;)

I also had a feeling... call it a black cloud of doom... that Iger wasn't going away after 2 years. 5 years? Maybe. But only his ego knows for sure. He ain't done wrecking things yet, apparently he thinks he can do the same things he did 15 years ago and get the same results. 🤷‍♂️
