key word highlighted

unfortunately it's not "we"
I'm guessing the Board knows insider things going on the "we" don't know. I have a feeling that Disney is about to go through a big "reset" time. This has happens every 20 years or so?

Get ready...Chapek now has the full power of the Board behind him. We might be in for some major leadership changes under Chapek.

I suspect that the Board and Investors are tired of the internal political problems of the past few years.

A CEO will clean house on whoever exec is not fully on board with his/her plan regardless on who is in the top position.

And the only reason for that is the actions of people who were there long before current management.

Just try to imagine if any of these Florida parks had been developed under the Bobs...
Bro, those parks ain’t building Rise of the Resistance. Iger approved it, for all his flaws. And Galaxy’s Edge is very flawed. But it still is what it is.

The board may like him, but Wall Street not so much. Down almost $3 already this morning.

Chapek didn’t build the Disney parks. The infrastructure and most of the actual substance were built by Roy O through Michael D. (In Orlando at least)
I completely agree. This is even more true in Disneyland, though Iger is mostly responsible for DCA being very different than it was in 2001 - I reluctantly give him credit for that. But in Orlando, HS has the Bobs written all over it - I believe 6 of the 9 rides there were approved and built by the Bobs. In Anaheim’s castle park, most of the actual substance was built by Walt through Eisner. Galaxy’s Edge is really the only exception to that… the powers that be don’t touch that park as much, which we should all be eternally grateful for.

Ultimately, none of us go to the parks to reward Bob Chapek for his creative prowess - we go to enjoy the things that were put in place long before him… and I’m personally not at the point yet where I’m going to boycott the things that Walt/Roy/Eisner built just to smite a corporate puppet.

Which is unfortunate, because the earlier version of DHS was a more interesting and thematically consistent park. Galaxy's Edge gave it a boost (even though it's a B- effort for what should have been an easy A+), but Toy Story Land is a tremendous waste of space.

There are more attractions now, but I think I could spend more time/have more fun in the mid-late 90s version of Disney-MGM than the current DHS.

The Board wants profits. Bob & Josh need to deliver profits. Consumers pay the prices being charged. Where does the dysfunction in the chain start? With the consumers. All of those in the chain shoulder the blame, but the consumers are the ones who continually enable the idiots in charge.
Some consumers fuel the US economy with a slaves to debt mindset. I would think living above your means and not have a plan to pay off the debt is somewhat of an idiot mentality.

The issue with current leadership isn’t that they can’t build good rides - they obviously can - but that they can’t build good theme park lands as a whole without a creative visionary driving it (Lasseter, Cameron, etc.). Compared to the legacy castle park lands or hell, even World Showcase, there’s no “there” there with these new lands. Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, Pixar Pier, Avengers Campus… none of these are places I enjoy hanging out. They’re just places to run from ride to ride without ever really having a sense of place. Compare that to Adventureland, where I could sit and people watch with a Dole Whip and feel perfectly entertained.

Part of me thinks that the leadership isn’t inherently anti-park (they are definitely spending money on rides - half a billion to make what is effectively a new, IP-based Space Mountain for crying out loud)… it’s just that they fundamentally misunderstand themed entertainment and what fans want. I’d bet these non-creative MBAs think fans genuinely want to play video games in Avengers Campus. And hey, maybe they do… maybe we’re the idiots…

This is what actually frustrates me as much as the constant price hikes. They don't have a clue about the product they actually work for and people like Josh have obviously been spoken to and like everyone else has been told to get behind Bob in fear of losing their jobs that in public is comes across as real as Walts Frozen Head

I suspect Wall Street sees the mess that Disney is in right now and has put itself in since the 70 Billion dollar purchase of Fox and the chickens are comming hone to roost now. That 20th Century Fox deal might have been a massive mistake.

Disney has always enjoyed a powerfull brand halo over its life. Its always been such a positive brand in the consumers eyes. Today, I think that halo is fading fast.

I think that with Disney wading deeply into politics and social issues have caused unnecessary problems with its public image too. I think that the Board and investors want to try and reverse these problems?
