Chanting at WDW Banned?

Shouldn't this really be addressed by Disney before they even step foot on property? All large groups should get a letter explaining what is expected and the consequences if you choose to break rules or lack basic decorum. To me that's the only way to stop it. Go after the tour operators/group organizers if their group is breaking the rules don't allow them back in the parks. It will end quick once the first group isn't allowed back.

I pity the CM who has to tell those morons to pipe down. First, they're either not going to understand English or they're going to pretend to not understand. Then, once they get the Brazilians to shut up, a group of football rivals from Argentina will show up and all is for naught.

I did point out that indoors it would be annoying. And I know it would grate on my nerves too in that case. But outdoors, meh. I work at a college though, so I'm used to the chants at games and events. Every situation is unique I guess.

Sorry but this is unlike any chanting that you are "used to". Once you have experienced the chanting by the groups at Disney esp those from overseas, you would more than likely rapidly change your mind. This is chanting that will haunt even your worst nightmares.

Agreed. It's obnoxious and when they start linking arms and such, dangerous. I include American teenager groups in this too. People in general just need to behave.

I feel there's a time and a place for it all.
7 am on the bus to Magic Kingdom? Cheerleaders need to keep quiet
In the Maelstrom hallway or right in my ear? There's 60 of you in your tour group, shouting into my ear is unnecessary.
In a big open space and not damaging others' eardrums for less than 30 seconds total? That's A-OK

Uh huh.... I'm sure you didn't mean to be xenophobic and "uppity"....
Don't be a jerk. This thread was all nice and relaxed. Go pick your dumb fights at that Hooters you frequent. You are completely out of line to call a respected member, @MonorailLover , xenophobic and uppity. Although one presumes you don't even know what the latter means.

I was at EPCOT this past Thursday. Chanting is definitely not banned!:( A group of girls were chanting for about 10 minutes or so, but at least it wasn't in a queue.

In general, I favor Walt Disney World over Disneyland for a whole variety of reasons, but let it be known that our family has NEVER encountered any chanting (from any variety, foreign or domestic, of egocentric teenagers obsessed with making themselves the focus of everyone else's attention) in Anaheim. Not once, not ever. It's really quite refreshing.

One more reason to give Disneyland a shot, in case you've never been there.

Even if it was "banned" how would they enforce it? Yes, it's extremely rude and annoying but it comes down to Disney wanting to deal with it and how they would do it. Are you going to kick out 600 teens at Fant that are chanting? Not likely.

I have at no point meant to be xenophobic. I have no problems with other people from other countries having fun at Disney. I feel it just crosses a line when it disrupts the other people who aren't "zombies and seeming bored on their phones", which I will agree with you, are also annoying.

By definition, xenophobia is the "intense fear of people from other countries". Now, I am not in fear or dislike of other people from other countries. I only specified that tour groups are the ones which I have seen to most disrupt the flow of the parks, mainly to agree with the people who previously posted their thoughts.

When a chanting group passes you out in a walkway, it's fun. When you are stuck near them in a queue for an hour, not so much.
I will never forget waiting for our bus to All Star Sports at Downtown Disney and hearing a girl group chanting for over 30 minutes!
