Changing resorts during a stay

We are planning a trip to the World for next year and have a question. We have reservation at Pop, but would like to stay there for a couple days and maybe switch to another resort maybe the Contemporary during the middle of the trip, but how much of a pain is it to move and do you have to move your suitcases or will they take care of the move?

Guest Relations will assist you with getting your bags from one resort to another, you should let them now when you check in, and maybe even the night before, just to minimize screw-uppage.

It wasn't a pain when my wife & I did it last year, but it was also just the two of us. Now we have a wee one, and I don't think I'd try it again for quite a while, until she's older and can help pack and unpack herself. But all in all it wasn't an ordeal at all. In fact, we went to our 2nd resort (Baordwalk) early in the morning, and they already had a room available for us. Your mileage may vary.

we transferred resorts during our trip this past august, and it was a breeze! I let them know when I checked in, and they took our bags from our room and put them in the room at the other resort.

We do this every trip, usually we stay at 3 resorts. Just pack your stuff in the AM, call a bellman and inform them of the resort you are transfering to, check your bags and be off to the parks. Your stuff usually makes it to the next resort by mid-afternoon. Its very easy and a great way to see other resorts. We've stayed at almost all of them.

We changed last year and will again in December. Disney has always handled the move just fine. They come get your luggage from your room when you call then you take your claim ticket and turn it in at the next hotel and the bellman will bring it to the new room. I usually keep a small bag of anything we can't live without for a few hours if they are busy--medications, glasses, etc. We get up and have the luggage picked up then go to a park and come back to the next hotel that afternoon\night and claim it.

32 resorts in the World
22 are disney owned soo..

All resorts
= 32/7= 4 trips and 4 days so 5 trips = 5 years

Disney owned only
= 22/7= 3 trips and 1 day so 4 trips = 4 years

What did you honestly expect on this board.

Heading for the great escape.
Last year we moved from the Hard Rock to the Polly to the Wilderness Lodge. The inter Disney switch was a piece of cake. Yes its apian to pack and unpack, but a bit of planning during the initial pack at home can smooth that out too.
