Cell phones at WDW

What are the rules for the use of cell phones at the parks and hotels on WDW properties ? Thanks !

Don't use them on rides.

Use your cell phone all you want, but follow common courtesy rules.
Turn off your ringer when watching shows or on a ride. If you must answer try to excuse yourself from the show or meal.

I was on a launch from the WL to the MK when the captain refused to move until the caller hung up. He refused repeated requests because he was in the middle of a business argument (a very loud on that we all witnessed while on the dock waiting). The captain finally removed him from the boat and we proceeded to the MK. I have also seen people escorted out of the Whispering Canyon Cafe for taking a call during the meal.

We carry our cells to use as communication with our teens in the parks when they are on their own, to stay in touch for family emergencies back home (elderly parents :lookaroun ) or to call our friends and let them know that its warm and sunny at WDW while they deal with snow back home. :lol:

There is nothing more annoying to me than some idiot letting their phone go off in an attraction, especially a theater-style(Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree,...). Most of the time its so noisy in WDW that you cant even hear it when it rings, so why not just put it on vibrate in the first place instead of waiting for it to go off during an attraction and ruin the whole thing for everyone?

I always keep my on vibrate bc like you said its so noisy most of the time you'll never hear it ring. Also that way you won't have to worry about turning your ringer on and off during shows and meals. Most of the time I keep mine just for emergencies bc when I'm in the World nothing else matters!

The only place I can remember them asking flat out for cellphones to be turned off or on vibrate was on Millionaire.
