I don't want to take this thread in another direction, but it makes me ponder something. Many people would like to be rich and famous, but the famous part really comes at a cost. Tom Cruise had to be snuck on and off a ride through an emergency exit. Sure it would be nice to bypass the lines at every ride, but imagine not being able to walk the parks at your leisure and enjoying all of the great details of the Disney parks. I'm sure he and other celebs can't just wander through the park. They'd get mobbed. So, perhaps being famous comes at a cost that makes it not worth it? Sure I'd love to be filthy rich where I could say, "I feel like going to Disney", and I just fly out the next day and spend a week or so. But I don't think I'd ever want to be famous to the point where I would have trouble walking around places like WDW.

ADD alert:

My friend saw Adam Sandler at Splish Splash (water park on Long Island, NY) last week and he was just chillin' in the kiddie area (with a kid - nothing creepy :lookaroun) but then people started noticing who he was and he was mobbed - to the point where they had to post attendants around him to keep the people away. Had someone walked in on the situation at that point he probably looked like a diva - but he started out just trying to be a regular guy.

I saw John Ratsenberger being nterviewed at HS. It now occurs to me that it was about 2 years before Toy STory so maybe that was the interview.

I saw Lisa Rinna at the YC several years ago, when they were still doing the Super Soap Weekends. We were headed in, she was exiting with her kids and a nanny. Lisa was pushing the stroller while the nanny walked alongside...

I totally agree with you. I don't even notice people I know when I go to the grocery store!

Let's see, I've rode ToT with hardcore wrestling legend Mick Foley (aka Cactus Jack/Mankind/Dude Love) and I quite literally ran into Donny Osmond at DtD! We're about the same size and both of us weren't looking where we were going and we about knocked each other over! He was really nice though and actually walked with us over to World of Disney and chatted.

Useless factoid (blame the ADD again!!) He went to my High School - a few years before my time. His dad was the gym teacher and taught me driver's ed.

I saw Steven Spielberg with his family about 20 years ago in a theater show in what was then called Mickey's Starland.

We saw Samantha Brown once, she was waiting for the crew to set up a shot. Like a total idiot I yell'ed out "Hey Samanatha!" and waved. She smiled and waved back.

Last year I saw Tom Cruise and his daughter on Buzz. They got on where the exit is and they left 5 empty cars between them. We were the first people let on after he went by. People were screaming TOM from behind and all my wife did was pout because he rode right by us and we didn't realize it until the cm told us as we were getting on.

After they got off, they were escorted through an emergency exit.

This is BS. They should have to wait and ride like everybody else.

We saw Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Deveraux from Days of Our Lives) at the PO-FQ in '94 when we were getting married. She was there with her husband and baby. A few in my wedding party were soooo excited to see her and her husband, Scott Reeves who was at that time on Young and the Restless. Although I didn't go over and talk to them it was still pretty cool. :)

The OP said "celebrities!" Haha, just kidding. :)

I saw Penn from the Penn and Teller duo.

I originally thought he was an obnoxious clown, but he was actually SO nice to everyone and posed in the area near the hub by the Tomorrowland entrance. I think he's a really nice guy and it changed my perception of him.

My husband would die, he has a huge crush on her! lol, I make fun of him all the time when we watch her Disney shows.

In '97 or 98', can't remember which (one of my first trips to the World when I was a kid), my parents and I sat across from LeAnn Rimes, the country singer, on a tram to MK. We were on that row in the front of the car where you sit facing each other. She had just became famous, and my parents and I kept glancing at her and whispering. Lol, we probably looked like creeps. Afterwards, we realized we should have just said hello!

A few years ago we were having ice cream at Beaches and Cream and in walked Erica Estrada we were't sure it was him but then everyone started to clap and he pulled up a chair and sat with us until his table was ready. He was really nice. We also saw Rev Run at Tower of Terror with his family. We were getting ready to get on the ride and they were standing in the corner . He was nice enough to take a picture with my kid!:)

Somewhere back around 98 my wife and I waited in line for Goofy's Barnstormer with Tim Kazurinsky. He used to be on Saturday Night Live back when it was good, and he played the short little wimpy guy in the Police Academy movies.
Last Christmas we were walking into the Grand Floridian for breakfast and Ray Liotta was walking out. Every valet that was working was waiting on him.

Robin Williams, Gary Sinise (in person, not at MS), Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Warwick Davis, Ray Park (Darth Maul), Deep Roy, Dee Snider (lead singer of Twisted Sister), Andrew McCarthy (best known for Weekend at Burnie's), Star Jones and her 25 person entourage.

I'm sure there is more but this is off the top of my head.

Was this around Christmas '09? We saw him at breakfast at Crystal Palace with his family.
