There were three sponsors, one was state farm, can't remember the others, the 3d was pretty good, not as good as the other shows at wdw imho.

Hahaha.. Lovely!! Does State Farm drop your policy after you file a claim at the end of the movie, lol???? :ROFLOL:

FYI... we went through storm struck today... I enjoyed it, and thought it was well presented.. If you were expecting an E ticket, then you weren't being realistic.. It's an innoventions exibit.. not a full-blown attraction..

Meanwhile the THINK area has been walled-off officially now..

I don't think people were expecting E ticket, but certainly more of a storm simulation than a 3-D film provides. Museums and tourists traps like Wonderworks have put together interesting/exciting storm presentations and I thought that Disney would have matched them with more than a simple film.

For real???

Coming from someone that works in the insuance industry, this is a way off base comment. State Farm is sponsoring this as a way of raising awareness over the difficult storm seasons that have ripped through the south east. All insurance companies have been working night and day to help all those recover from the storms that came through in 2004, 2005, 2006. The claims, that you (the public) hear about are the 1% of bad ones that the media reports on. But what you don't hear about are the 99% of happy policy holders that truly appreciate their insurance company being there. You have no idea what it feels like standing with a policy holder while all that is left of their home is a slab....me (an adjuster) has to be both a companion and professional and help them start to rebuild their life. We do NOT cancel policies for all those that file a claim, helping and rebuilding is what we're there for. This attraction will show you what goes in to properly securing a home in case of another busy storm season. So before you start slowing slandering remarks around, please think about what you say, because some of us live through it and deal with it everyday!

Tell that to everyone in Florida that I know whose policies were dropped(Ummmm, dozens doesn't equal 1% in a general sampling!)...

State Farm is a scam, plain and simple... They are all about making money off of peoples misfortunes, just like every other insurance company. Otherwise, Citizens wouldn't be picking up so many new policies...

You have absolutely no right to comment, especially as someone who is biased because you work for a scumbag company who drops policies like hot potatoes, and doesn't live in the affected areas. And, I have not met ONE happy State Farm customer in South or Central Florida... NOT ONE!! And 99% of happy policy owners?? Where??? Please, enlighten us!

Please explain this one:

Not to turn this in to a thread about insurance companies, but let me ask you this: Let's say you own a casino and during your busy season every customer plays the slot machines and wins the max amount every time they play. Do you continue to do business that way? No. You have to readdress it as any business would do that continues to lose money. Now, every customer that had a loss during these busy storm seasons is very tragic, but insurance companies can't continue to pay policy limits on every home near the coast every year. That just ins't smart business. Insurance companies are grouped with what you call scum bags because the only time you have to deal with an insurance co. is after a devastating loss. To hear you say State Farm is a scam would break the heart of the countless millions who were able to rebuild their homes and their lives because they had State Farm Insurance. Yes, I live in Atlanta now, but I have lives in several other coastal areas that have bit hit much harder than FL. FL, unfortunately, was hit pretty hard by 4 hurricanes in a row a few years back. Right now, the folks in MS are dealing with just as much tragedy and 99.9% claims filed there have been paid and closed. Again, on a topic that you evidently are not versed on, please be considerate before making hurtful and outlandish remarks. Thank you.

Funny how people have tragic losses, yet the insurance companies rake in record profits and drop policies at the first sign of trouble... I haven't met anyone who didn't have to FIGHT with their insurance company to recoup a percentage of their losses(And yeah, State Farm is THE WORST OF THE WORST in Florida!), if they were able to recoup anything at all!

Seriously, you are clueless and delusional... You should shut up before you dig your grave deeper. WDW made a huge mistake letting State Farm sponsor this attraction. Areas hit harder than Florida?? Out of touch, much:shrug:??

And yeah, any company that drops policies after people have been paying for 20 years or more deserves the title "SCAM"...

Again, not sure why you feel the need to name call. I have not intended to provoke a fight/arguement with you. Just pointing out that not everyone feels the way you do and you are entitled to your opinion. But I do challenege you to research which insurance company still writes the most policies in FL, and how many customers were non-renewed from other insurance companies. ALL insurance companies are doing everything they can to start writing more and more property and casulaity policies in the state of FL, MS, AL and LA. It is a difficult time right now, but we will recover and all these states will bounce back and have flourishing homeowners, condo unit, renter's, rental dwelling policies, etc...

In the mean time, enjoy stormstruck and learn from it. Make your home as safe as possible when it comes to weather proofing your property. If you have specific questions or concerns regarding insurance send me a private message and I'll be happy to give any answer you're looking for, but let's leave it out of the forum as most will be annoyed by this...thank you.

I wish they'd bring back the video game kisosks and all the video games they used to have in Innoventions.

I don't really venture here much unless I'm taking a shortcut, a break from the heat, or have false hope that something cool has been put into the space.

I rode this today and enjoyed it! It's a fun little theater/3D experience that simulates a 'bad' weather event. Nothing crazy yet still enjoyable. I forget the cast members name off the top of my head, but he is the person who use to work at the House of the Future (name?) and was our host today. I wanted to ask him because I always remember him being a real friendly and informative. If people go in with proper expectations of an 'edutainment' experience, they will enjoy it!

HiNunterZuNich:

I think you may be talking about the Monsanto House of the Future, which I heard is going to be remade in 2009 for Disneyland.

I experienced it today as well. As I was leaving the park I noticed out of the corner of my eye that they took down the construction walls in Innoventions East. Lucky day I guess!

The initial weather demonstration was pretty decent I thought. The CG simulation and lighting were well done and they did an "ok" job merging in real world effects like light flashes, air blasts, and misting along with the video. I also enjoyed the second half where they have the entire group as a whole vote on which choices would best help prevent a car garage endure the weather. It was funny noticing just how many people think putting tape on your windows helps. I went through multiple hurricanes, it does nothing! At the end of the voting you're treated to another video showing just how well the car garage stands up against the same weather conditions and the group is given a score. Overall not a bad attraction in Innoventions.

Pro-tip: For those of you who don't like getting wet, I was hit with the misting effect four times throughout the first half of the presentation. It isn't bad at all but your face will get wet.
