This sounds like it could be done very nicely. How hard would this be to put in, though. I'm not sure I understand the entire concept, but if it covers the whole castle, wouldn't that be a lot of holes to drill? It seems like it would be a lot of work. I would like to see it, however, and I know Disney can do it!

Funny how some changes to icons are taken with open arms, but others (Epcot sign, castle cake) aren't. (Sorry for the drift)

anyway, i think the fiber optics sound like a great idea! i always thought that the castle needed something a little more than the changing lights...it just needed something to make it look even more magical at night! of course, as always, i'll be all for the change *IF* they do it right! which i'm sure they will!

Well...lets see if i can answer a few questions::

IF they were to do it..it would probobly be added the next time they do a castle rehab (its due for one soon i believe)..

..the effect seen on the show from discovery channel....i just watched it..and although its SIMILAR..thats not the eeffect im thinking of..that one they show (although neat) is a lot "less magical" than what im hearing about..but..what they DID show on that special MAY have been just one small part of a much larger idea....so who knows...

..and so far none of my sources have been around to confirm or deny this rumor..so we will have to see...

Fiber optic lights which can't be seen during the day are a much more subtle addition than the others mentioned. Personally I HATED the castle cake (sorry, cake-lovers) but the addition to SE does not bother me as much.

Yes, you are correct. If you look during the day at the tower portions, you can see a circular white light, small and recessed...and I have seen them go off...I think before Spectromagic and when Tinkerbell flew...not quite sure when, but they are there

I think it would look great....as long as it is done in moderation...and not too much ....to make it over kill and gaudy.

A little fiber optics on the castle would be a nice magical touch

Birthday Cake Castle - HATED IT!!

Wand over Spaceship Earth - Loved it as a temporary (2000) thing - definately more tasteful than the cake :lol: - Hate it now that it's staying.

Fiber optics on the Castle - I'll have to see if it's well done or just another bad show! :animwink:

I've always said that WDW is the best at night...anything you can add to that is a plus

I have always said that WDW is best at nite...if it were up to me the parks wouldn't even open til sunset...or at least late afternoon, anyway!

I wish the parks would stay open later sometiomes, so I could see more of the coolness of the night time and all the shiny things . Especially at Epcot, since most of us spend night time at Epcot in World Showcase for the parade and Illuminations. Future World is one of the coolest looking places at night, especially when all the people are gone to WS.

Oh, Epcot RULES after dark! It is so amazing....it's so , well only one word describes it - FABULOUS!! Now you have it on my mind....thanks for bringing up a wonderful memory!
