Say you get the Suite for a night, are you allowed to walk around The Magic Kingdom after hrs.? I think it would be great to walk around with no one there except security(of course you would have a pass to satisfy security)!!:D

No
Not without an escort at least. I think, if I recall correctly, they provide a concierge that is available all night to get whatever you might need and escort you should you wish to go for a walk [presumably smoking is not allowed in the suite]. I don't know how far afield they would allow you to go on a walk.

This is an interesting question. I would guess that Disney wouldn't want you to wander too far since I am sure there is plenty of power washing, painting, etc. going on that isn't toooo magical :)

In 2007 one of the family members of the administrator for MouseSteps.com won the night in the suite. He stated in his report that when the park closed at 11pm they were given an abbreviated Keys to the Kingdom Tour. He states that they finally called it a night around 1:45am and they do keep you in the castle all night. Here is the link to his report of the stay with pictures.

Thank you Timeman for that link to the pics! I did not know that they had a swearing in ceremony for new citizens! My wife had her swearing in May at the Clinton Library here in Little Rock!

Hi -

Mousesteps is my site, I did sleep in the castle that one evening (a few days before Christmas 2007). My stepfather won it, though it was hard getting him to accept!

We were able to do the abbreviated Keys to the Kingdom Tour for about 90 minutes or so after park close. It was wonderful (though the suite is on the small side, especially with 6 adults!), but I don't think we'd have been allowed out much past that. Since it wasn't my "dream", I wouldn't have had a say in that anyway. :) We also needed a plaid guest service cast member with us at all times, even during the day.

You can't really see out the castle windows to see the power washing (or anything else!)

I have friends at guest services and I've been told that they dropped the "getting anything the guest needs" spiel very quickly. I don't think we were really offered anything, but we were all tired and had an early wake-up.

When my DD9 won the castle suite last year, my wife and I went outside at around 2:00am just to see what was going in in the MK. The concierege stood with us in the castle walkway and did not let us go too far. It was amazing to see the amount of work going on at that time of night. Trucks, man-lifts, cranes, and people everywhere, this was around the time they were prepping the castle for the Christmas parade taping. What an unbelievable experience that day was.

Just plaid, huh? Can't have those striped CMs? :D
Just kidding, thanks for the info! Really interesting stuff!
